As I write this, the Sox just completed a sweep of the Pirates, which means they've won 7 of their last 9 games and three consecutive series.

Now, I know that these three series were against the Indians, Cubs, and Pirates. Not really close to quality opponents. And tomorrow the Sox face God aka Strasburg.

But the starting pitchers are throwing the ball well, the offense appears to be coming to life a bit (Gordon Beckham hit a double tonight!) and the defense is playing well.

Do you feel like this could be the turnaround we've been waiting for all season? Or just a case of us playing terrible competition?

But just to continue the argument, they haven't played well against the bad competition at any other point this season, so why can't this be the turning point?

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Toledo Rockets
Well usually it seems like the Sox can't pull off the sweep of anyone, regardless of shittynes. So I take it a a good sign.

dont look a gift horse in the mouth. These are BAD teams. TERRIBLE teams. Either way, you're supposed to beat the bad teams. I wouldn't go out and do a 2010 playoff dance. Either way though, you can't deny they've been playing better, smarter, baseball. Let's wait and see. Don't forget they have to face the best pitcher who's ever pitched jesus christ superstar sandy koufax meets nolan ryan tomorrow. barf.

Enthusiasm or deep-seeded hate for those that think Strasburg is really good?

I don't want to say that we are going to go on a second half run, but at least this team is watchable right now :dunno:

This. Exactly. Add the fact that Viciedo was just called up, conceivably to DH most of the time, and we now have a reason to watch the White Sox. I still hope Kenny makes a forward-thinking move or 2 by the deadline though.

The latest run has at least saved me the pain of gouging out my own eyes when I watch them play, which is nice. Here's hoping they keep it going for awhile.

And while I'm not sure I have much faith in this statement, I'd love to see them be the first team to light up Strasburg.

Nah. I mean he's got incredible stuff, and he IS really good. I guess I'm just tired of him being pushed down my throat. Do you know what they call it when he starts in Washington? Strausmas. C'mon!

Another outstanding job by the starting staff and bullpen. This is getting interesting and fun to watch. Go Sox Go !!!

Yeah, the kind the Costas-like stuff being said about him is a little much at times, but I sure do enjoy the hell out of watching him work. And really, you can't blame the Washington fans, he's their best home-grown talent since Zimmerman, and even he got off to an average start once he started playing full-time.

Don't get too excited, we have just faced the Cubs, Pirates and Nationals consecutively, those are some pretty bad NL teams.
