Some stats from the game I found interesting last night.

Never understood how the giveaway/takeaway stats could not match. By definition, shouldn't they always be the same?

I love the NHL video on the Seabrook hit that said Backes' injury was partially why Seabrook was suspended...The injury should have had nothing to do with the suspension.

I still think the Ott hit was worth a minor, not a 5 minute misconduct, not a suspension, but a cheap hit IMO.

That said, the Blues were more worried about hitting back instead of playing hockey and hopefully they play that way the rest of the series.

I know it won't happen because how short sighted Betman is... But I would love to see the new player punishment head announce a defined criteria for how punishments will be dolled out after this offseason.

They are two different things and aren't necessarily reliant on eachother - even though many times one is the result of the other. You can have a "giveaway" that isn't a "takeaway" if it is an unforced error on the player who turns it over.

Blues' Hitchcock on 3 #Blackhawks he helped coach for Team Canada at Olympics: "I hugged them then. I'd like to kick them in the ass now."

Here's a fun stat: under Q, Hawks are 5-0 in Game 5s where the series was tied 2-2.

Doesn't mean much for this game, but it's a nice thought.

How many of those were at home though?

Dan Rosen ‏@drosennhl 9m Power plays in the Blues-Blackhawks series a combined 4-for-37. Chicago is 2-for-16; St. Louis is 2-for-21.

What's wrong with the in-series thread? Anything that drives discussion is good, IMO.

He forgot to drink his prune juice...I liked this thread for general series info. :dunno:

I don't know when this season is going to end, but the fact that it's not going to end at the hands of the St. Louis Blues gives me a HUGE sigh of relief.
