We've been incredibly lucky as Bulls fans.

When you think about it, we've had some incredible players who were/are incredibly athletic and great at getting to the basket. If there's one thing I would characterize Chicago through the years, its strong defense and athletic perimeter players that could finish near the rim. I keep going back to what Legler said about Rose playing the best PG in the NBA since Magic. It was quite a compliment and its probably true.

So this has me thinking about how lucky we've been over the past 26 years (starting with when Jordan entered the league). Over that time, we've had the following to brag about:

PG- Rose
SG- Jordan
SF- Pippen
PF- Rodman/Grant
C- Noah/Cartwright

And if you want to go back even further, you have:

PG- Rose
SG- Jordan
SF- Pippen
PF- Rodman
C- Gilmore

I doubt any team can beat that. The Lakers are probably the closest.

The basketball gods smile on us because the baseball gods have continually pissed on us. :lmao:

Yeah, we've had some incredible luck, great players, great coaches & a history of great basketball. The all-time starting 5 for the Bulls would be awesome to witness. The only ones I would put up there also would be the all-time starting five's for Boston, then LA. Don't forget that Boston had a group of guys so dominate that they won 11 of 13 straight NBA finals series'. Plus add their teams of the 80's. LA takes a back seat to Boston, IMHO.

....BUT for us Bulls fans....Our boys are the still the best lol.

I just cant get all worked up about players from the 50s and 60s compared to the 70s and 80s, namely the late 70s (after the ABA ceased to exist). For one, the demographic differences really should be obvious. The game has been played above the rim going back to when there was the infusion of guys like Dr J. and David Thompson. Having said that, there was some quality from the black and white era.

Lakers:
PG- Magic
SG- Bryant
SF- Worthy
PF- Gasol
C- Kareem (Wilt was better but Kareem spent more time with LA)

Boston:
PG- Cousy
SG- White?
SF- Bird
PF- McHale
C- Russell

I hear that, and Sam Jones would most likely be the #1 SG for Boston. White was a good first choice though.
