If the Bulls don't get any of the Big 3 free agents, and uncle Jerry won't pay max for the second tier guys, then the Bulls might end up getting someone around 7-8 mil. If that's the case then what do you guys think of Jermaine O'Neal?

Not what he used to be but he could get us 15 and 8 and shoot over 50%.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. Golden State Warriors
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
If this is the case we better get a good SG for around the same price. Maybe a decent MLE guy too. Then we could be slightly above the mediocre level we currently play at. :p But I hope and pray it will not have to come to that. I'd rather have Lee/*** than this (which is not to say that Lee/*** is bad), but then again, so would the rest of us I'm guessing.

Jerry will spend the money. They got Boozer, Johnson, or Amare

So the FA we sign to go with our young star is over 30 years old and has missed significant time each of the previous 5 seasons. Excuse me while I throw up.

If we can't get any of the first or second tier guys we've got to either go all out for Melo, use the space in trades, or sign young guys and hope they break out.

If JR didn't want to pay the money for Pau Gasol why would he pay it for a guy like Boozer or David Lee?

If Jerry wants to play his cheap games like he normally does, there are plenty of other bidders out there for these players.

In addition to the teams that can just resign their own players who are the other teams with cap space? Knicks, Bulls, Nets and Heat? The Clippers have it too right?

There's a chance the bulls don't get any of the 7 guys we talk about (LBJ, Wade, Bosh, Stoudemire, Boozer, Lee, ***).

I was talking with my buddy about the Nets and while people think someone won;t go to the worst team in the league, they could turn around real quick. If they get the #1 pick and take John Wall and sign Boozer, they could have Wall, Harris, Boozer and Lopez in their starting lineup. That's a playoff team in the East.

I just don't trust Bulls management in a bidding war situation because JR is cheap.

Jermaine O'Neal might be the best we get. Not that he needs to sign for 5 years, maybe 1 or 2 years. Be prepared for something like that.

JR is cheap but he won't be anywhere near the LT next year. The max we can go up to is the salary cap which will be about 15 mill less than this years payroll. So if he is that cheap and intends to run the franchise under the salary cap. Be ready to become the clippers of the 90's.

If he's cheap I still don't want O'neal. The best way to be good on the cheap is sign young players to cheap long term deals and hope they break out and become great value contracts.

Unfortunately the way the Bulls are cheap is that they don't have the kind of stats guys teams like the Rockets or Mavs have. Having that kind of analysis behind your decision making is the way to go if you want to spot undervalued players.
