I thought I'd make a thread dedicated to books sort of the way videogames have gotten their own thread in the gaming forum. Anyone seeking or giving out suggestions for good reads or would just like to talk about a book they've read recently that really stuck with them, this would be the place.

About to start on The Complete Works of Jean Jacques Rousseau, then after that is Finding Abbey. The second one was written by some random distant cousin (mother's, cousin's, son...whatever the **** the term for that is), so I kind of feel obligated to read it sooner or later.

Illuminae which is the start of a trilogy. It's Young Adult fiction with a unique format where it's written like an investigator piecing together what happened on this spaceship by collecting a dossier of hacked documents—including emails, schematics, military files, IMs, medical reports, interviews, and more. So you are never removed from the narrative by descriptions of what a particular object looked like or by a description of what someone was thinking. You only ever get that information if it was contained in some interview or after action report or an email or a text.

That sounds interesting. Would like to know what you think when finished.

I'm reading 'The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay.' Pretty awesome for comic nerds.

Just started "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon". Novelization of the video game series. Likes what they did with the Splinter Cell series of novels based on the video game.

Reading House of Leaves again.

If you have not read this book, get it now. Don't read reviews or anything, don't flip through it if you get it. Avoid spoilers and just read it.

Oh yeah.
The series kind of dried up towards the middle, I lost a little interest at times. Then towards the end after his accident in real life, it came back pretty damn solid.
The ending was really ingenious. It is the only real ending it could have had. It wraps up nothing and everything at the same time.
