Homer being behind Ebner is the probably the most surprising thing to me on this depth chart. I didn't think Ebner showed anything last year so the fact that the free agent addition is behind him is very surprising to me. Figured Ebner was a lock to be cut.

Gipson being listed 4th string, after Dominique Robinson, D'Anthony Jones, Rasheem Green, Terrell Lewis is the surprise. I would assume that's either a callout to Gipson and/or an indication Bears are moving on.

Velus Jones listed as #1 KR and PR. Not unexpected, but may also indicate there's no worries there. I kind of wish they'd let Eddie Jackson do PR. He was elite in college.

Vildor also listed Other/4th string.

Homer isn't really behind Ebner. In the "Other" column is listed alphabetically. Unless there's a rash of injuries, Ebner will be cut. I still think one of the 3 RBs may show they can do what Homer was brought in to do.

It's kind of stupid. The depth chart should list NB. There's no reason it shouldn't. They only list two CB categories. The plan of Johnson and Stevenson on the outside and Gordon at NB was talked about. The chart doesn't refute that, it's just how they keep listing it. It's also traditional to list rookies behind vets.

Looking like they think 2021 Gipson was a flash in the pan and they've got no place for him. Makes a lot more sense now to have signed Ngakoue.

It is entirely possible that Ebner simply jas improved in his 2nd season like many rookies do.

Gordon may in fact still end up starting outside in base and then moving inside in nickel especially if he has improved in his 2nd year like many rookies do.

I'm sure Ebner did improve. What's your point? Bears could have listed Ebner ahead of Roschon Johnson, but they didn't. Bears brought in Homer for 2 mil, you think Bears are going to keep 5 RBs?

I did hear Gordon has played well in TC. Gordon may start outside, and kick into NB on passing downs. Very possible. Whoever the best players are.

I expect Roschon to be the #1 before all is said and done. And those 2 starting CBs should be supplanted too cause they absolutely suck.

Few rookie RBs look as bad as Ebner did and then magically not suck the following year. RB is about as plug and play as you get coming from college. Is anything possible? Sure. But highly doubtful. Dude is terrible
