Gotta win the ECF.

This is the Bulls best opportunity. Thibs has more talent on this team than ever before and the East is as weak as it's ever been. No Kevin Love. John Wall out.

It's basically Thibs vs Lebron. Can Thibs figure out a way to beat Lebron James and the Cavs.

I think he has to get to the Finals. That means beating LeBron and the Hawks.

I think he has to win the finals. Anything less will be considered another playoff failure by this management. They want an excuse to get rid of him and not winning a championship is the one they will use if thibs does make it to the finals.

It's very possible we're in a Mark Jackson type situation where our coach is a good coach, but not the one we need to get us over the hump. He took us from A to B, but not quite far enough for C.

Very true, but do we know who that C is?

I still can't see the Bulls firing him THIS season for a Finals loss.

No clue. I think they let Thibs at least ride out his contract if he gets to the Finals. I don't think anyone reasonably expects the East rep to win the title this year.

Right.

I can understand the firing for losing anywhere else at this point with the injuries that have occurred in the East. The Hawks aren't even healthy anymore with Horford's hand being a problem.

Also as far as Thibs, this series proves his ability to adjust/change more than anything.

Cleveland adjusted for game 2 and punched Thibs in the mouth. If Thibs can adjust to that and punch Cleveland back in the mouth, then he's learned as a coach, compared to 2011 where he did not adjust at all that entire series other than when Asik broke his leg (and for some reason played on it..)

This is what it will come down to. He needs to start using Snell and Mirotic more. These two helped save the season in March. They deserve time on the floor during the playoffs and can create matchup problems. Tonight is the biggest test.

As far as him being fired, it's never going to happen with 2 years left on his contract. Traded for picks is possible but there's no way in hell that JR will eat 2 years of a contract. If anything they'd give him 1 more year and then part ways with only 1 year left on the deal.
