Dicks powerful shot sent 4 Goalies, injured to the showers. Jalmerson blocked
a shot and did not return this season. Butkus size accounted for a record number
of Hawk goals when he blocked the view of opposing goalies in front of their net where he
could not be moved. His inspired play made him 1st Team All Star.
It was -20 degrees F at the Outdoor Challenge. Dick dressed only in pads, shorts & a BEAR
T-Shirt with a patch & letters ED O. He skated surrounded by a cloud of steam, fuming, billowing
from his mouth & nose, icicles hanging from his whiskers. The Illinois Alumnus
Loved the Spring Weather and the Sting of the Hit.
