It's a form of animation, doesn't have to be japanese. But the Japanese are most known for it.

Akira is a good one. Ninja Scroll is awesome too.

Edit> Man...it's been a long time since I've watched that. I might have to blaze and kick back and watch that this weekend or something.

Cowboy Bebop, Ninja Scroll and Akira about the only anime I've really enjoyed.

Dragon Ball Z is hot garbage.

I guess we'd have to get into a discussion of what you consider anime to be, but my favorite anime based on my conceived definition of it is the Avatar Series(Last Airbender,Legend of Korra)

Also watched a little bit of Inuyasha, that was a good show.

My two oldest daughters are really into anime. They watch the shows and buy stuff with the characters on them and read the mangas as well. They also do the cos-play thing at conventions.

Hetalia was one they were big into for a long time. Naruto, Blue Excorcist, Attack on Titan are a couple others I remember.

I’ve sat and watched a few of the cartons and I don’t get the appeal. I’d much rather have the old school GI Joe or TMNT or Transformers. The ones we grew up watching on Saturday mornings.
