Online Multiplayer?
or
Offline Single Player?

I ask because there's a debate about the future of video games and if they'll all be online-only in the future or not. I myself prefer Offline Single Player. And I hate how they're adding online multiplayer to great single player games like Uncharted and soon to be Assassins Creed. I just prefer to play by myself because people who I play against online are either:
A.) 10-15 year olds who yell at their mom in the background
B.) Mexicans/Latinos who speak only Spanish
C.) People who turn the pitch way up on their mic so they sound like a chipmunk
D.) a douchebag
E.) all of the above

I like online multiplayer, but if a game like Assassin's Creed has a great single player mode then I'm more of a fan of single player.

Depends on the game really.

For a game like Uncharted, I don't need multiplayer. The single story is good enough for me and it's worth it. Same with Bioshock.

But I recently finished Dead To Rights and I was wasn't expecting much and I really liked it. The story was decent but that's a game that could have used multiplayer. If you're gonna pay 60 bucks for a game you want your money's worth. D2R could have used a multiplayer.

As for sports games, online franchises are they way all sports games should go. NCAA's online dynasty are my favorite. Madden online franchise last year was a good first step. But the key is having a big enough friends list so you can play people you know.

I never play random people online is sports games. Except for this new FIFA World Cup because they set up their online World Cup that way. Which I'm not a fan of.

mostly online multiplayer, unless we're talking about a game whose campaign is so thorough and well put together, like Assassins Creed

I love online games, but because of the reasons you listed above I very rarely use voice chat. This past year is was mainly Madden and CoD online. I do enjoy single player RPGs quite a bit though. My favorites would be the Mass Effect series and I also enjoyed Dragon Age Origins quite a bit.

Online Multiplayer easily. Love being able to game with others.
