This forum is busy each and every day with breaking news, fun memories, barnburner debates, speculations and intelligent conversation.

But there's something this forum seems to be lacking.

This forum needs a woman's touch.

As far as I know there are very few, if no female users on here at all. As we've all noticed, we're seeing more and more excellent sports reporters and columnists who are women. If some of them joined this message forum i think it would strengthen this forum all the more.

What are your thoughts on this?

We need to get Girlygirl here, although perhaps the universe will implode if the biggest Hinrich fan on the planet comes into contact with Fred.

What we really need is a mod to organize this place better. Merge duplicate threads and stop name calling and fights in some heated battles.

I haven't heard from Fred at all. I hope the BG news hasn't caused him to...do something drastic.

Someone should really check in on Fred to make sure he didn't OD on sleeping pills or something.

Something I've often thought of bringing up that may not be politically correct, but after reading Carol Whatshername's article called "Has-Ben" I'd ask....is there a place for women in sports commentary?

Dont get me wrong theres plenty of morons out there that are also male, but having seen in not only sports commentary in NBA, but also in Australian sports coverage, theres clearly not only a small minority of women who even care for the sports aspect of sports, especially in terms of understanding the mechanics behind a particular sport, not just mindlessly cheering on your home team or cheering for a player because you think he's sexy/cute.

I'm not being sexist here. I think when it comes to commentary on handbag fashion women would have a more qualified understanding. It just so happens that sports fandom is known as a "guy" thing.

Not saying there should be any women involved at all. Clearly some are qualified, maybe its just the bad taste in the mouth i got from Carol's article on Ben.

Carol Slezak has a right to her opinion, and she knows what she is talking about.

Should have known you would make Ben Gordon the focal point of your argument. No matter how a female feels about a player that no longer matters, they should have a right to voice their opinion. Think it would be interesting.

Im not saying that people dont have a right to there opinion, but I think people here who watch just about every game intently have an more educated opinion than those who dont. I dont get to watch every game but I usually download most games of the season (some of them dont get put up online) but even then I wouldnt say i'm more qualified than many others, including many posters here

I would respect your opinion more if you bring up some facts or analytical figures to prove your point. You dont therefore I dont respect it. Not that I do but plenty of others have rebutted your claims & you have yet to prove them wrong.

Would be sexist to say most men arent into fashion & design? No simply because its just the truth. This is not battle of the races or whatever, the facts are most men & women are very different, have different train of thought & often have very different interests, thus why majority of sports fanatics are men

A lot of people watch a lot of basketball and don't watch the league. So their opinions are biased and silly. If I mention the name of a player, like Joe Johnson as a possible improvement over any wing player on our team, and someone uses stats to declare a Bulls player better than Johnson, then your watching all of the Bulls games does not keep you from being a dumbass concerning basketball. A fan should be able to watch two players play and know after so many games (not a bunch) who the better player is. Women should have that analytical skill also. And maybe a bit more unbiased, hopefully. I doubt it based on the women that I know who watch sports, but still it is possible, would love to have Carol Slezak on this forum...that would be cool.

As far as evidence, I shouldn't have to use statistical evidence that Carmelo is a better scorer than Gordon. THAT SHOULD BE KNOWN!!! Look at the players skills compare, contrast, and get your answers. When I say Ron Artest is the best player available in free agency, I would expect people who have seen the league and watched Ron Artest to know that yes, he is a very good player, and not have a biased view and say someone on the Bulls team is better.

I do not have a home town bias when evaluating talent, that causes people like you, a member of the walking, talking, breathing, peanut gallery, to then jump at me. But it is fine. I am a Bulls fan, but also an NBA fan.

lol at the last comment. If you think I can't tell or admit when someone else in the league is better than players on our team then good luck. Ben Gordon was a top 30 player in the league if not very close to that mark. Its your bias against him that cant see that
