What would thw world be like without combustable fuel?

If we ran out of resources to power cars, houses, etc so basically our power situation was plunged back to the 1850's. What sorts of inventions do you think you would see in a modern world without power? I don't think we would "regress" to where everything is like the 1800's, but it would be interesting to see like what 100 years without power, what sorts of innovative twists on age old technologies we would come up with.

Are we going with the theory that no one would try to come up with some type of combustible fuel or replicate electricity?



I think the rest of the world would be like the third world, and we would plunge into chaos and tribes.
