http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/03/mlb-mlbpa-talking-worldwide-draft.html
The gist is that MLB and the players' union will eventually push for a worldwide draft. I have no idea if this will affect Asia and Europe, but it will most likely affect Latin America where a lot of international amateur free agents come from. There's complaints that the draft pretty much killed amateur baseball in Puerto Rico (I don't know if that's true or not) but the question is, how would this impact relations with other parts of the world, and especially in terms of interest in baseball as well as talent acquisition (posting fees etc)?
I'm going to see if there's other news and items on this front, but MLB has been pushing for this for a long time and it looks to be inevitable.
