The guy has the potential but no brain. I know its not a smart move to give up on a mid 1st round pick so soon but i would dump him for the extra 1.5M cap now.

We have around 5.3M left. If we can dump JJ that gives up 6.8. Not a whole lot of money but i think it gives us a better chance at getting a decent backup SG and C. Then you replace JJs roster spot with one of the SL guys for the min.

Maybe use him as part of a sign and trade deal including picks. I wish we could work out that Rudy deal but i seriously doubt it. JJ just doesnt look good in the SL. I know its the SL but that should be a place where he stands out. He blew the game against Sac when they needed to see something from him. I just dont think the guy has it.

All we can do is see what he does with his "Improved" self come the regular season.

SL is great for guys to show off their skills, but if a guy like JJ is guaranteed a spot on the roster, he might have a puppet-master pulling his strings, coaching him to work on parts of his game that he needs work on. We have seen it before with players in SL, and I wish we had more closure, but that's how the NBA is.

It doesn't make much sense for him to be guarding 2s for large chunks of his playing time. I don't think he jumps out at teamates, and pushes other players away to be in awkward roles. The staff must have him doing something crazy, otherwise, why would they sit there and watch him fall on his face, and not make the adjustments. That could have easily been playing time for other guys.

I'm disappointed with JJ, but something isn't right. I know he isn't THAT bad of a player.

I just can't see the Bulls giving up on him after his rookie season. But I can't see him being much better than Tyrus Thomas or even Joe Alexander.

I think saying he's not going to be much better than Tyrus is a little over-eager, imo.

I know it was only the summer league...but he still didn't either look that good or he just flatout played lazy. It's one of the two.

I'd like him to stay on board, but with him recently I dunno...

Tyrus was by no means Tim Duncan smart on the court but he's not as bad as JJ. Plus Tyrus's athleticism is leaps and bounds above JJs. There were nights and moments where you questioned how TT wasnt already a star.

But its kind of hard to compare TT to a guy who fouls himself out of games after 2 minutes.

give him time and see how he develops, he still has a lot of time but he is very young, Bulls knew he was a Raw Prospect when they drafted him

I will wait to see how he does in Preseason first, that Summer League he was playing with was HORRIBLE

I give him this season to show some marginal improvement. There's still some time for him, but I do see alot of Tyrus Thomas in him. Atleast though he's not a #4 pick.

See if they can trade him for a 2nd round pick and save thst 1.5M. Then the Bulls can pick up a better player and the spot for JJ can be use for Almond or Lucas who is on the summer league.
