Whatever Happened To Going Down With The Ship

The more I read about that cruise ship incident and the captain, the more disturbed I feel. He must be a real piece of work. I would think a ship like that would have all the high tech equipment. Isn't there something that indicates. " Hey stupid you're gonna hit something". And his screw you, I'm getting in a lifeboat first attitude is despicable. He was said to be extremely popular with the lady passengers, probably not so much now.







Anyone else have an opinion?

Yeah this guy was a joke. I agree with you, wouldn't they have GPS or something to say the shore is coming up on the boat. I wonder if the captain was drunk or something like Exxon Valdez? But he deserves to be in jail. How about the transcript with the coast guard guy yelling at him to get back to the ship. This is some messed up stuff, I know I would never go on a cruise. Look at all the crap with them: rouge waves, people falling overboard, outbreaks of food poisoning now this.

There is a rumor that he only went so close to shore because a crew member lived there and wanted to wave to family members as the ship passed by.

I read the transcript of his conversation with the Coast Guard. The Coast Guard kept ordering him to get back on the ship and he wouldn't do it.

He jumped ship, got to land, and hailed a cab. You know the cabbie was happy. The captain is a good tipper.
