He hasn't looked good at all in his first four starts. Peavy, Sale and even Floyd have all pitched better than the Sox #1 guy. Is this just a slump or a cause for concern?

I'm not sure yet, but I definitely think that Sale can take over the #1 spot in the rotation if he continues to pitch as well as he has. What say you?

I haven't watched as much as you guys but I feel like he's walking way too many people but he's been able to keep the damage to a minimum before this start. Control problems are probably the bulk of his problem but I don't really think you need to worry. But again, I'm not an expert on your team.

Tonight he basically had one terrible inning. That happens to many pitchers no matter how good they are.

Danks has had an issue all year with control. Something that I assume will be fixed by watching video. He looks to be falling off the mound more so than last year. As far as release point I cant find anything yet on difference in release.

His xFip is 4.21 and his ERA is in the 5's. So, expect some progression from Danks over his next couple of starts.

There's also the flip side, where despite the fact that Boston thinks that Theo fucked the Red Sox before he left, the Red Sox offense still doesn't exactly suck.

Yeah, his control is definitely the thing that is a concern right now. Fix that and he should get back on track. His release and velocity look fine to me, but I've only seen a few of his innings this year.

they still arent that good of a team for the east. Carl Crawford deal looks real real bad. be lucky that ricketts is going to let him spend red sox money with the cubs.

They aren't a good team but that is mostly because their bullpen is worse than the Cubs. They can score runs still which was Rice's point.

There are a few things wrong with him. On the positive side, his K/9 rate is 7.1; which is impressive, but he's walking too many batters. His BB/9 is 4.5 (this should be under 3) and his K/BB is only 1.6 (this should be 2.5 or 3). He has a pretty low FB rate (39%) but he's getting unlucky in that 14% of his fly balls have gone for home runs.

His ERA is 6.23, but his xERA (eXpected Earn Run Average) is 4.50, which means we should, hopefully, see a correction coming.

It is looking like Danks and Garza aren't going to be so similar by the end of the season.
