With all the debate between Anderson and Carter I started to wonder which is easier to find elsewhere through FA's or draft?
I know both positions are very critical but Edge seems to be more prevalent in draft or FA's so do you take Carter?
Also is one position easier to scheme around and neutralize than another? Comments

Take that as a post critique or about the subject matter. Whichever you prefer.

A DT that can do it all like Aaron Donald, Cameron Hayward, or Chris Jones.

I agree that finding good pass rushers from the DE/Edge position are harder to find.

Literally no one is taking a stance to the question asked…

An elite pocket disruptor is more rare than edge rusher.
Aaron Donald made Nardflo and Dante Fowler look great.
When Tommie Harris got hurt/quit giving af Alex Brown, Ogun and Mark Anderson all looked pedestrian.
When Hicks was on his shit, Fangios defense went from good to impenetrable.

DEs get the big sack #s, but when you can cheat one side of the line it makes it easier to neutralize, especially on run downs... it’s harder to anticpate an elite talent in the middle, which always opens up the edge on pass downs and ruins interior runs.

In the 4-3 defense an elite 3-tech is much harder to find and is more disruptive than an DE or OLB. The 3-4 defense the edge rush is more impactful but still not as important as the 4-3 3-tech.

We’ve been looking for a tommie replacement going on decades meanwhile pretty much whiffing on every edge rushing draft pick or signing since
Peppers was not a whiff… That 2012 defense with all the aging players was really fucking good and it started with him.

Thank you for trying to get my post back on track and that's the question I was asking. I think the 3T is harder to find and scheme against.

How did your thread go off track? Do you need it framed deposition style? I think the bears have with a few exceptions sucked at finding quality edge rushers or interior linemen since 2007 when we saw a pretty fucking dl die

2018 DL was better.

I still remember a game in 2006, maybe against the seahawks or bills in september, when tommie literally seemed to come in horizontally like superman but 2 feet above the ground for a sack and i sharted
