Pittman told jurors that current team President Andy Roeser once told Baylor, then executive vice president and general manager, that "teams sell one of two things: success or hope, and the Clippers sell hope."

great lawyer btw. In a case for wrongful termination for a contract employee(gm), he just shifted the focus from team success to marketing. I like that move. People/juries have a problem seperating their image of something 7 years ago from the image of a thing now. Right now, the clippers are hot. even though the clippers sucked 7 years ago, In the back of their minds, jurors are going remember that they're hot now.

But i'm digressing. I like the idea that i quoted in the article, because it captures what i've been thinking about for a while now. As a bulls fan, we've made a major transition. We're no longer buying hoping, we've moved to performance.

i've been expecting the bulls to sell hope for sooooooooo long. 3 years ago, we scored rose. Our team was built on his potential, +1 for hope. Last year, it was free agency. Our team was built for what it could become, score +1 for hope again. Even this year, boozer goes down. All the pundits predict we loose a crap ton of games, and we won't get to see the chicago bulls in action. +1 for hope. Finally, we get boozer back, but noah goes down. Once again, we have no idea what our team looks like, and we're left hoping that once fully healthy, the bulls are the real deal.

I think until RIGHT NOW, we've been left wondering and hoping that the bulls would play well. Moreover, i think the strongest evidence of this statement is that, if the bulls ever lost a game, in the back of our minds, we would say "once noah/boozer comes back, then things will be better". In spite of the success of the bulls during this process, to me those excuses tell us that we were still left in the 'hope' department .

I guess the point i'm trying to make, is that it's a strange transition that we've made. We're fully healthy, we're the favorites to win the title, and we're a two seed in a top heavy east. It's time to stop buying hope, and relish the performance the bulls are making. It's strange though. I'm still so used to the hope that i've bought over the past years. I still feel as if the bulls are one change, one step away from (obviously sg) being a great team, however, i'm ignoring how very good THIS bulls team is. REJOICE, because it's great to be a bulls fan.

Word, it is & always has been great to be a Bulls fan through the great times & the horrible times.

All I thought about during the more recent down years (after MJ & before Rose) was how lucky I was to be a fan of one of the greatest NBA dynastys ever growing up. That keep a smile on my face the whole time pretty much. Haha

Now.......WE'RRREEE BBBAAACCCKK!
