I personally think we should trade Joakim Noah this off-season if we can land a premiere SG. I really want to get Eric Gordon from the LA Clippers, but he's not worth Noah alone. So maybe we can do a 3-team deal and get Gordon plus an extra draft pick for Noah.

New starting lineup:

Asik's superior defense and rotations will better mask Carlos Boozer's defensive inefficiencies. We also get more scoring from the 2-guard position.

I already stated my choice in the other SG thread. Eric Gordon would be a good fit to play alongside D-Rose. He's a better long-range shooter, is slighter taller than Derrick but is built like a bowling ball, and can create off the dribble. Plus he's also young, so fit's well with our core guys. He's the perfect 2-guard that we need to target this off-season.

I even think we should offer Joakim Noah in a package to land Eric Gordon. I know the adage never trade big for small. But that adage applies only if you don't already have another big who can step right in and not miss a beat. Omer Asik is basically a bigger, smarter, younger version of Joakim Noah. Plus we need to clear Noah's salary off the books. Noah made $3M this season. Next season his salary jumps to $12M. I fail to see how Noah is going to make $9M worth of improvements this off-season. The 5-yr $60M contract Noah signed was bad for us. A one-dimensional defender is worth closer to Kirk Hinrich's old contract, 5-yrs $45M ($9M a year).

I'd say offer Joakim Noah and our 28th pick this year for Eric Gordon and the Clippers 1st rd pick next year. Joakim would be a good defensive complement to a scoring PF like Blake Griffin in LA. He wouldn't take shots from Griffin, and his size would help Griffin from taking a pounding every night defensively.

Eric Gordon is the "DUH" selection on that list, but there is no way the Clips will part with him. Them most believable gets on that list are Ellis and JR.

Kevin Martin is the perfect fit for this team. I see Courtney Lee is up there. While I wouldn't mind him either, if a trade is being made with the Rockets I want Martin 10 out of 10.

Though....options such as BGordon, EGordan, Monta, Kev Martin, etc. Would be nice.

Courtney Lee looks pretty good on tape. I wonder why his stats are so puny tho. His D looks pretty solid, dunno why he's been on 3 teams in three years. If we can get Lee cheap, he would be a good fit in our system.
