Yeah, the Pirates DFA him to make room for Liriano. Now I guess we officially know who won the Youkillis trade even tho we knew the winner at the time.
I don't get it as he will take a spot on the 40-man roster. If it was a minor-league deal, then I get it but it's not.
At least the Sox won't have to DFA any one on their 40-man roster... as the 40-man now stands at 39.

I'd say you can never have too much pitching depth, but except for that one start in Minnesota, Stewart has been terrible. I think having an empty spot may be better.

anyone remember his relief appearence when the sox were beating the cubs? he started to make the game close with his meatball pitches. that was his theme for the year. he is awful.
