I actually think it might be a good idea for you to decline Peavy's option and restructure it to a 3-year deal or something for about $25-30MM. With incentives and crap plus insurance in case he breaks, but he had a good enough year that I don't think you should just let him walk. Barring that, decline the option regardless and make sure you get the comp pick via qualifying offer.

viciedo is a FA after this coming season. The cubs will not be going for that type of pitcher and I doubt he would sign there knowing he wont be competing. makes no sense. Floyd wont hit the open market either as the sox will retain him and possibly deal him.

Anyway...

AJ- stays
Peavy- coin toss....I see the Royals as a destination
Floyd- option picked up and than dealt
Youk- 100% believe he will go to cleveland. family is huge with him and they are all in cincy...plus add francona to the mix.
Myers- will be back as 5th starter

Not sure about most of them yet. I think and hope A.J. stays. I want him to retire as a Sox player though. I'd love to see Youk back and Peavy would be okay if he took a sizeable hometown discount, but not likely.

Hudson - Gone
Floyd - Shitting his pants on another mound
Liriano - 50/50, but likely gone

You'll probably call me crazy, but I could see the Sox picking up the option on Floyd and dealing him to the Marlins to get Buehrle back. They're looked to shed payroll significantly and taking on Floyd for Buehrle would make sense for them. Maybe wishful thinking, but I'd love to see him back in black. With ozzie gone down there, I think there's a chance.

Floyd- Hopefully somewhere far away from Chicago.
Youk- Tribe or Reds.
AJ- Stays.
Myers- I like what he did here so hope he comes back.

Buehrle would be a good move if peavy was brought back and a hell of a PR move as well.

Sale
Peavy
Buehrle
Danks
(some FA) not quintana

The White Sox face four difficult option decisions on Jake Peavy, Kevin Youkilis, Gavin Floyd and Brett Myers, writes Paul Swydan for ESPN (Insider subscription required). Swydan opines that Floyd is a more proven rotation candidate than Myers and "if only one option of the two is picked up, it should be Floyd's," while Youkilis could be a good candidate to be retained given Chicago's lack of depth at third base. Peavy's $22MM option "is difficult to justify" given his injury history, though Swydan notes that Peavy provided close to $20MM worth of value during his healthy 2012 season.

Hey Dews and other resident Sox fans...just want your input. I know there's the thought that Youk will end up in Cleveland w/ Francona, but what do you all put the chances at of him signing in Cincy w/ Rolen retiring?

Update:

White Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski says that he hasn't heard from the club as he is set to hit the open market, but a club source says Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf had lunch with Pierzynski after the season, writes Paul Sullivan of the Chicago Tribune. Meanwhile, GM Rick Hahn says that he is going to take his time in talks with Pierzynski, Jake Peavy, or Kevin Youkilis.

Seriously, I think AJ, Peavy are goners. The Sox should retool a bit, though I'm not sure how much depth they have to replace guys like AJ Peavy etc.

Il give Hahn the offseason and the trade deadline before I judge him. He will be on a short leash with us sox fans. hell theo could be the GM and we would only give him a year.
