To clarify the story, there hasn't been "official" talks between the Chicago teams about Campana since he was claimed and pulled back last year. If he's waived I think all AL rosters are full and the NL gets precedence anyway, which means he'll either get claimed by the Braves or the Nats, or be outrighted to Iowa. The Cubs picked a good time for DFA but were unfortunate that the two teams with spots open just happen to be legitimate contenders in need of a speed guy.
