Hey guys,

Are you more impressed with the way Gibson has played this year or with Noah's improvement?

Even though I love the player Noah has become, I will go with Gibson because I expected little out of JJ and even less out of him (his numbers are comparible to everbody's favorite Blair). I think Gibson can be a decent rotation player for the Bulls.

Also Doug T, you are the man but, if I remember correctly you were very high on JJ and so far he hasn't look that good wha happennn?

Noah has been a beast and is a top 10 center. At the begining of last year he looked like crap, now he looks like a good piece to have for years.

Well when you put it that way it is hard to argue with you.

However, I just wish Noah could develop some consistent offensive moves. A lot of his points just come on garbage plays.

I feel Gibson has a decent shot and can develop into a consistent scorer in time? He also has pretty good size and athleticism to where he can become a good defender.

Noah's made improvements, but I guess it depends on your expectations, because I thought he could be this good. Meanwhile I think Gibson has gone from "Vinny is an idiot, stop playing this guy he sucks" to "at least he's better than Tyrus".

So I guess relative to expectations Gibson has impressed me more.

I think it depends on what you mean by consistent scorer. He's already a decent offensive player between his jump shot and the number of offensive boards he grabs, but I'm not sure he's really ever going to give you much more than that. I don't think he's got the size/quickness/talent to ever be a guy you rely on for scoring, he's just a guy who chips in and isn't a liability.

Personally I'd be happier if he can become a better defender. He really needs to be a better defensive rebounder and to stop fouling so much (although that could be a rookie thing, lots of rookies foul a lot). If he was more solid on the defensive end then he could be a third guy in a PF/C rotation for a good team. At the moment he's probably at the level of someone you keep around in case your main players are injured or in foul trouble, but otherwise don't play a lot.

Noah actually isn't to terrible offensively. He will never be someone who you can throw the ball down into but he does have a decent hook, can finsh around the rim and is quicker than most centers so he can occasionally take them off the dribble. Most centers in the league aren't any better at creating their own shot. A center by definition is supposed to score from within 5 ft from the basket. I would say Noah needs to improve his man defense and build somemore strength. I don't really expect much offensively from him.

Gibson is a nice surprising piece but he isn't a starter in the league on a playoff team. He isn't very consistent with his jumper, defense or rebounding. That being said, he is a nice bench player that brings energy and a bit of scoring.

I have to go with Noah. He worked on getting stronger, and really improved his conditioning. If Noah is in good shape, he's going to be a very productive player. I think he still needs work in the strength department, and his offensive skill set could still use some work, but i'm loving what i'm seeing from JoNo. If Noah goes into this off season looking to get stronger(mainly in his lower body) he should be able to be a complete defensive force. The type of player that Bosh, Amare, or Boozer would hurry to the Bulls to play with.

I like Taj as a player, but I don't think he has improved to the point of impressing me. To impress me Taj would probably have to look like a legit starting power forward. He's been starting, but he still looks like a guy that's holding the position until someone that's better takes it from him. Taj is a good value player, and a team that won't go over the tax needs a player like him, but he's still a quality backup at best. Unless he's sharing time at the position with "Stupid Tyrus" of course.

Noah most definitely. Taj has been great..but Noah is a beast. I hope he squeaks into the All-Star game. Coaches votes I'm hoping will help him get in. If not I'll settle for Most Improved Player award if he keeps it up.
