And are you happy with them?

I'm looking to change banks. I'm currently with Byline Bank, formerly known as North Community Bank. I've been nothing but frustrated with them ever since it became Byline. Everyone there always seems so clueless. I was trying to order something online, and the purchase wouldn't go through because of a "Bank error." I called them and the guy couldn't figure it out. I asked what he would recommend, since there's no other way I can make this purchase online (the website didn't take my American Express.) He literally goes, "Hmm. Maybe try again tomorrow and if doesn't work, call me back and maybe I can find someone who can help haha."

That's just one example, but I'm pretty fed up.

Chase. Great service, lots of credit card options, web app, mobile app, lending. Easy to work with and you can get to someone on the phone in about 1 minute

Chase for business and they suck. Our credit union is great.

PNC. No problems. Decent service and a good mobile app.

Local credit union. IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union. Plenty of locations in the area and fair interest rates on loans. We have both cars and our house with them.

I've been looking into Alliant Credit Union. Anyone have any experience with them?

An option for buying online that I've used over the years is paypal. It's always worked flawless. As far as banks go I have PNC for business and personal and Chase for my mortgage and also a personal acct. I like PNC better.

Got out of banks a while ago now.

A good Credit Union is the way to go. Unless you really like that >0.000001% interest rate on savings!

I bank on myself and keep my millions and millions in my pockets. You want it, you have to go through me and I'm a bad man.

Credit Union here as well, if you happen to be in the Pacific Northwest you can't beat BECU.

Great credit union, I was a Bank of America customer prior and they were horrible.

PNC is one of the banks I use, I like them. Bank of America is ok, I use them as well. I also use a couple local banks, but that won't help you. I also agree, if you can join a credit union, I would consider going that way. Usually a lot of things are handled just a bit easier.

All I hear are nightmare stories about Bank of America from people who used to work there. Once in a blue moon, someone will say they have had no issues, or that they think it's an okay bank. For their sake, I hope that luck continues.

Yeah I'm strongly leaning towards a CU.

Of the big banks I've read about, PNC seems to be the best. But it still looks like a CU has the advantage. Alliant Credit Union seems to be decent from from I've read, and they even have 3 branches close to my house.

USAA...
Do almost everything through them.
Bank, auto insurance, loans, credit card...

Not homeowners insurance or mortgage... Found better rates.

Never had a complaint.

I am a big fan of the smaller banks. The larger banks have been really bad for my family and extended family. All the perks of small banks, familiarity with you, it adds up a lot.

For business we use a large commercial bank - Chase. They've been about average.
For personal we have several. Bridgeview Bank has been great to work with. Funny, when I lived in Bridgeview I did not have an account with them. When I moved to Naperville, I did.

Heartland Bank has been really good. Friendly and very helpful and still counts change for free.

Oxford Bank has been far and away our favorite bank though. The tellers greet us as soon as we enter and know us pretty darn well for tellers. The other thing Oxford does are these community events at the bank monthly at all of their locations (five I believe). They are basically kid focused but it's great and gets the kids knowing about finances too.

Worst bank for me by miles was TCF. Opened an account and they asked how much cash I wanted back. We said none. This was a Friday. Sunday we wrote a check and Monday it bounced. TCF was contacted and we asked why and they said our initial deposit check had not cleared yet. We reminded them of the cash back when the account was opened. They were speechless and didn't know what to tell us. I got the charges reversed and immediately closed my account.
