Why can't Tyrus be like Griffen?

When the clips got Griffen, I was thinking man I wish the bulls could get a 6'9" guys who was that athletic and could draw double teams. Oh wait we already have that guy on our team



Tyrus maybe slight shorter and is thinner.
Tyrus can handle the ball as well or maybe even better.
Tyrus though his jump shot is not consistent, he has more range than griffen
Tyrus is just as long as Griffen
Tyrus is intense on the court
Tyrus is more athletic than Griffen, is quicker than Griffen
Tyrus is a better shot blocker than him thought neither is a great on the ball defender.


The only thing that Griffen has is more bulk.
And a mind set of playing in the post rather than on the perimeter.


All Tyrus needs to do is develop 1 post move. I don't know, i am a big Tyrus fan, and think there has to be some way to develop his offense in the post. The bulls need to higher some coaches who works on just post moves with Tyrus.

Because Tyrus Thomas is a horrible finisher around the basket. Because Tyrus Thomas doesn't hustle. Because Tyrus Thomas jogs up and down the court. Because Tyrus Thomas only plays with intensity a fourth of the time. Because Tyrus Thomsa is physically weak. Because Tyrus Thomas can't finish through contact.

Griffin and Tyrus are completely different types of players, Griffin is a big, strong and agile player with solid post play. Tyrus was a leaping shotblocker who will never be as strong or as big as Griffin.

I like Tyrus... but he's nowhere near the PF that Griffin will be. They have completely different games.

Because Tyrus doesn't have the drive or the work ethic. Because Tyrus is convinced that he's a 3 and not a 4. Because he has no post game. Because his basketball is too low for him to realize this. Tyrus could have been Griffin by now if he had the drive. As for as I'm concerned, this is his last chance to prove he's not a bust (relatively)
