The Bears have to cut the roster down to 75 today, then down to 53 on Saturday. The Bears are expected to make a move involving Will Ta'ufo'ou who could be waived today or placed on IR. His locker has been cleaned out.

Then the Bears will go with 4 TE to start the season; Olsen, Manuleau (however you spell it), Davis and Clark (he will be listed at FB but will play TE too).

Thoughts? I know it's not big but I thought I would pass it along.

He's the only true FB on the team but Clark will play that position. He has been playing FB all preseason, well he's listed as HB but he's playing the FB position. So, the Bears will be fine and he got injured last game. The Bears will be fine.

Im not worrying about it, i know we will be fine, i just think its odd that we would release our only true FB

He could just be place on IR because he did get injured last game. Also, the Bears don't want to release a FB and they needed to move a TE to another position and that's what they did with Clark.

Well if he is on IR, thats fine.

How much action does a FB get in Martz's system?

None..thats why Clark is the HB (FB)

If you look at the Bears' depth chart, there is no fullback position. The chart lists the Hback (halfback?) position as Desmond Clark - Will Ta'ufo'ou - Eddie Williams. The terminology has changed.

Walter Payton was a halfback; today, he would be a running back. Matt Suhey was a fullback; today, he would be an Hback, but I guess in Martz system the hback and tight end positions overlap quite a bit, depending on the play and formation.

I notcied the change but I still call it the old ways. I like it better for some reason.

Eddie Williams! He will prove to be useful dude! He'd fit in Martz's system because he is a great receiver and has size. I know, fullbacks aren't made to catch, but with our line...well, no explanation needed.
