So for Christmas this year I think we're going to get the kiddos a nice wooden swing set. Not one of those crazy $4000 monsters.... But I looked this morning and saw some nice ones in the $800 to $1500 range. Anyone ever do this? Got any companies you recommend? Mistakes you made that I should avoid?

there are a lot of reputable companies, but frankly just go to Home Depot, buy one and pay for an installer there.....if something goes wrong you have recourse thru Home Depot which has deep pockets.....it is kind of hard to screw up those installation kits.....

Outside of Home Depot, my cousin used Grand Installers and it went well.

If you check local ads there are usually sets people are trying to get rid of. The wood may have weathered but power wash and re-stain...looks new.

We sold ours thru Craigslist. Guy came out and dismantled it and removed it completely. I got $150 for mine which had two swings, a glider swing, and one slide with like a tiny hideout at the top
