Watson, he’s the surest thing and also least likely Nagy could f up, but no chance he’s traded here.

What is stopping us from becoming the Houston Texans if we gave up a bunch of capital and he'll take how much of the salary cap? Watsons contract hasn't even kicked in yet. But I would do B, A, D, C

3 first round picks! Hell no !! Watson would be old by the time they could put talent around him! Like offensive lineman!

3 1st round picks and a 2nd round pick would hurt. The question is, do we have a strong enough roster to get rid of 4 high draft picks?

Holy shitters Batman. ALL of those are terrible ideas and not worth it.

Seriously. What is the damn rush to bring in a QB RIGHT NOW??? This team isn't going to the SB with Nagy
AND
holes to fill with limited resources: 1-2 Tackles, 1-2 WRs, 1 MLB, EDGE depth, & probably a CB in addition to the QB (Fuller + cap casualty) + other cap casualties.

Yet everyone seems to think blowing their wad and creating even more holes will solve something with a magic wand outta the gate for the 2021 season!?? Nagy's system takes 3+ years to master & he's proven incapable of adapting or scrapping it.

How does anyone think ANY of those QBs will succeed with this staff this year?
...Much less at competitive playoff level in one off-season when they trade away all those picks AND take on huge QB contract?

Any of these will be a train wreck. Important decisions shouldn't be made under duress. Pace/Nagy are in must-win and they're bringing pocket change to the big game to gamble the future when they've proven to suck at playing the game. Literally. I have being the Negative Nancy, but where's the path to success here? Seriously.

What is crazy pills is not realizing that without a good QB everything else is moot.

I 100+% agree they MUST GET a good if not GREAT QB.

Re-read my post. It's about HOW to get one without BIG TIME overspending only to have said QB fluster on a hole-ridden team & fail to develop (if drafted) OR cost so much (if FA) that there's even more holes. C'Mon man. Think big picture.
There's no instant 1-year success plan available with such limited resources.

Honestly, the worst idea i've seen in this thread is yours. Every single team has holes and your plan is to essentially fill every single one before finding a QB? Let me know how that goes. Seems to have worked out for the Bears the past 35 years.

I'll say it again for the old timers who still dont understand what a difference top tier QB play makes. Deshaun Watson led the league in yardage and was the highest graded QB vs playoff teams in 2020. This is with an OL worse than the Bears. A running game worse than the Bears. A group of pass catchers worse than the Bears. And a defense and coaching staff worse than the Bears.

The Bears have been a .500 team with dogshit QB play and most of their high draft picks making minimal impact on the team. Add a player of Watsons caliber and they're instantly a legit playoff team.

Its incredible how many years we've suffered through the same thing over and over and there are still fans who think its an awful idea to bring in a proven upper tier QB because it'll cost the Bears draft picks that 9/10 do jack shit for the team. Watson is literally the teams best chance at long term success. He's gonna be kicking ass for at least 10 more years.

I don't know what to do. I resign as Bears GM effective immediately.

What do I win?
