Damon is the EXACT type of player the White Sox go for, but he's not completely washed up yet. That's when he'll pique the interest of KW. Give him 2 more years when he's completely worthless and KW will stick him in center.
I want someone with at least a 350 OBP to lead off. While Damon's OBP has been above 350 for all of his career, last year it was 321 and his speed factor, while still good, is in decline as well. His contact rate has been steady but his BB/K ratio has dropped to 29%. That worries me.
If the sox do something, they better make it a 1-year deal. I smell another Juan Pierre type player where he has one resurgent year and then falls in the crapper.
