From what I heard before, the referee wouldn't allow it because the cover wasn't according to regulations. Hard to know whether that is true though. If the cover wasn't according to regulations, that's on the coaching staff, not the referee.

The ref is definitely racist. He had been previously suspended for another racist incident. So that part is confirmed.

I feel bad for the kid. I honestly would have told everyone (including coaches) to go **** all. I'm not cutting shit.
