I live in California so I do not get an opportunity to listen very much. Was driving today and heard the advertisement that they were the new home for the Cubs broadcasts. Sure didn't take them long to throw the Sox under the bus. What is the real story behind this?

The White Sox had a 10 year deal with WSCR and it expired, neither side was anxious to extend. The Sox signed a deal with WLS in August. The Cubs signed a deal with CBS radio a year ago that had 2015 games on WBBM but with a clause to move to WSCR if the Sox deal was not extended. All pretty straightforward stuff really. Of course the Score just made out like bandits.

It's unfortunate. The White Sox should have stayed to the Cubs wouldn't be on there. They always talk bad about Chicago sports, but with the Cubs it will be 98% of the time instead of 99% of the time. Too bad they couldn't get a deal with ESPN 1000 instead.

As a long time Score listener I like the move. More access to the team, Maddon's weekly show, etc.

That's not really been my experience. They talk bad about Chicago teams when they warrant it. A year ago they were just destroying the Bears, but the Trestman/Emery shit show certainly deserved it. This year they were very optimistic about the Cubs and Sox, with I think a slight Sox bias at the beginning of the year. Of course as the MLB season progressed they completely started sucking the Cubs' dick and continue to do so. And now they're very high on the Bears.

This opinion is from me listening to them on the way in to work, at lunch, and on the way home. So not just Boers and Bernstein in the afternoon. Bernstein is an asshole to everybody, but even he's been high on the Cubs and the fact that the Bears seem to be heading in the right direction.

I don't care who broadcasts the Cubs games because living in southern Wisconsin now, I have to subscribe to MLBTV and I watch them that way anyway.

Kinda funny that WSOX is now airing Cubs games. Times have really changed. I tend to listen to the score more than epsn so I'm happy about this and look forward to the additional Cubs coverage on the station. I'm sure BB are excited too since they will probably have less days on the air now ha.

I have to admit...my world revolves around the Bears with the Cubs coming in second. I have never been a Sox fan even in their WS year. I have typed 10 different things about the Sox...their stadium....their location....etc.....and none of them pass todays PC rules. Sox suck. And I live in the SF Bay area......if the Giants make it and the A's do not I root for the Giants. I just can not root for the Sox no matter what...sorry

I grew up a Cubs fan and at the time I hated the Sox more than any other team. My attitude softened a bit later in life, though. If there is any possible way for the Sox to have any advantage over the Cubs, like signing a free agent out from under us, or especially winning games against us then I still hate them and want them to fail.

BUT... If the Sox somehow made it to the WS and the Cubs did not I would root for them. Maybe not overly enthusiastically, but I would want them to win.

Otherwise, **** 'em. :yep:
