Things are heating up as the new season will be upon us soon... So I had to revamp some of my previously held convictions and stir up this masterpiece for your entertainment & criticism.. Feel free to heckle at will, I promise to hold no grudges 🍻

*TRADE*
-------------------
28Y LG Jonah Jackson 2Y $17.25M AAV
6'3" 310 5.23 26" 98" - 28 Reps Arms 33.5

#197 traded to Rams for the former Pro bowl LG that failed with the Rams attempt to put the "5 best linemen on the field", which required him to switch positions to Center the Bears are banking that his familiarity with coach BJohnson will allow him to return to his former pro bowl level.

CUTS
-------------------
Dominique Robinson +$1M
Zacch Pickens +$1M

EXTENSIONS
-------------------
Kyler Gordon - 4yr $10M AAV

Matt Pryor - $3M

FREE AGENCY
-------------------

jan-2-2022-orchard-park-new-york-usa-atlanta.jpg

(C) Drew Dalman (Falcons) - 3yr $13.5M AAV
27Y 6'3 300 5.00 - 33" VJ 109" BJ - 33 Reps Arms 32"
2024 PFF 554 Snaps - 78.8 OVR 66.6 Pass 79.8 Run - 2 Sacks 3 Pen

Elite run blocker, decent pass blocker, still young and improving. Will give Caleb a veteran presence to lean on and develop chemistry with for years to come.

01jhe9n7a74ryjj3f8xd.jpg

(DE) Dre'Mont Jones (Seahawks) - 2Y $8M AAV
28YO 6'3 281 5.12s - 31" 110" - Arms 33.75"
PFF 54.3 OVR - 65.9 Pass - 45.5 Run

Former 3rd round pick has been healthy and is the prototypical size for Dennis Allen's defense. He didn't fit into the Seahawks 3-4 scheme and was released. He will allow Sweat to play more to his speed as the RDE while Dre'Mont plays the Cam Jordan role that Dennis Allen was comfortable with.

simmons_giants.jpg

(LB/S) Isaiah Simmons (Giants) - 2Yr $4.5M AAV
27YO 6'4 238 4.39 - 39" VJ 132" BJ - Arms 33.38"

Former #8 overall athletic freak, in 2024 he only had 181 snaps at slot corner for the Giants who attempted to convert him from LB to slot CB. He was repeatedly taken advantage of against quick shifty receivers but he is better suited matching up against speedy TE's and RB's. He can be the matchup answer the Bears need to compensate for their slow LB's in a three safety formation.

bqxjmm7t2lex9qr8nyi9.jpg

(FS/SS) - Tre'von Moehrig (Raiders) - 3yr $13M AAV
25Y 6'2" 202 4.52 - 33" VJ - 14 Reps Arms 30.58
2024 PFF 67.5 OVR - 87.5 RUN DEFENSE - 70.2 PASS RUSH - 54.4 COVERAGE

The Bears gave up the 2nd most rushing yards in the NFL in 2024.
Great safety play can take a defense from good to great. Moehrig is elite in run defense at the Safety position. Brisker may never stay healthy, this shores up the secondary.

01jjt53g9rzaecb1wpgx.jpg

(DT) Poona Ford - 3Y $8.5M AAV
6' 306 5.13 - 29.5" 111" - 24 Reps Arm 32.75
PFF 85.1 OVR - 71.1 PASS 78.8 Run

Billings needs help and Dexter is terrible against the run. Allow Billings an Poona to rotate or play together and shut down the inside runs. In case you can't tell I'm serious about stopping the run 🐻

DRAFT
-------------------
(1 thru 9)

#1 Cameron Ward
#2 Abdul Carter
#3 Shedeur Sanders
#4 Travis Hunter
#5 Mason Graham
#6 Ashton Jeanty
#7 Will Johnson
#8 Mykel Williams
#9 Will Campbell

#10...

sddefault.jpg

Armand Membou - OT (Missouri)
6'4 332 4.91 34" - 31 Reps Arms 33.5"

After further consideration, I have to admit his combine athleticism was off the charts for a man that size, so the Bears should indeed add an essential piece to their Oline reformation. Membou is a RT that showed LT athleticism and rare strength for the position. Dan Rousher will figure out if Wright or Membou is the best option for the left side and the Bears will have bookend tackles for the next decade.

#39...

hq720.jpg

Grey Zabel - IOL (N.D. State)
6'6" 312 36.5" 9'3" - 26 Reps Arms 32"

Operation OLine Reformation is now complete as the Bears add an explosive and versatile blocker to the trenches, he will play right guard and along with Dalman & Wright, the Bears will bring the Black & Blue division back to the NFC North.

#41...

sddefault.jpg

Darius Alexander - DT (Toledo)
6'4 305 4.95 31.5" 9'3" - 28 Reps
Career: 144 Tkl 44 Solo 8.5 Sacks

This draft is loaded at DT and thats the reason Alexander isn't getting more hype, the guy can do it all and will fit perfectly into a rotation at 3T with Dexter.

#72...

rj-harvey2.jpg

RJ Harvey - RB (UCF)
5'8 205lb 4.40 38" 10.7" - 16 Reps
Career: 3,792 Yds 6.5 Ypc 43 TD - 61 Rec 720 Yds 4 TD

Mighty mouse sized RB that is hardnosed and tough to bring down but still has good speed and elusiveness. Again the draft is loaded at this positon and Harvey has been overlooked.

#149...

01j6fb562cycqt32svnx.jpg

Thomas Fidone II - TE (Nebraska)
6'5 243 4.7 35.5" 10'6" - Arm 34"
Career: 26 Gms - 61 Rec 10.4 Ypc 4 TD

Superior athlete at the TE position that has been severely underused throughout his career, DBs will be too small and he will leave LBs in the dust. Great chess piece to add to the weapons at Johnson disposal.

#235...

12664472.jpg

Jaylin Lane - PR/WR (VT)
5'10 191 4.34 40" 11' - 14 Reps
Career: 203 Rec 2,532 Yds 12.5 Ypc 10 TD - 67 Punt Ret 733 Yds 10.2 Avg - 1 TD

The WR class is underwhelming this year but there are still jewels to be found. Lane is an excellent punt returner and has great speed and athleticism. Late round sleeper that will play a key role on the offense & special teams.

#242...

wpdrh0kchy7du8qdqmzo.jpg

Willie Lampkin - FB/OL (N. Carolina)
5'10 270

Too undersized to play his position as a OG/OC in the NFL, but was a great college player that earned the ACC outstanding blocking award, and a highly decorated championship wrestler in highschool. Tough competitor that the team can easily allow to take over the Doug Kramer role for the Bears.

Membou will be gone. The first OT off the board. For the people that are just catching wind of him because of his off-season. The real reason he will be gone is because he faced the toughest slate of pass rushers of any of the "top" offensive lineman this past season, and he consistently graded out the highest. The off-season stuff is just a little cherry on top.

Who do you predict will draft him?

I would be thrilled with Dalman, Moehrig, and most of that draft.

Simmons has never lived up to the hype but is intriguing. Maybe Allen could unlock him.

RJ Harvey was my sleeperRB in another thread. I’m a UCF grad and I’ve seen almost every game he’s played. He led the Big 12 in rushing and is a home run hitter. He’s scored 43 TDs combined rushing and receiving over the last two seasons.

Jewels to get a case of Squirt
Dremont Jones excelled as a 3T with Denver, not an EDGE. Even as he excelled, he struggles against the run.

I believe his ceiling is N.E and his floor is N.O.
Can't picture a Defensive coach like Vrabel passing on an elite defender like Travis Hunter for an OT. Maybe N.O but Cambell with his southern drawl and personality is just as likely there as Membou, not to mention they need receivers and could have their pick of the top WR.

Vrabel is a massive build through the trenches kinda coach and protecting Maye will be the priority. I think Hunter goes between 5&6.

Allegedly, the Pats are hot to sign Ronnie Stanley. They do have a big need at LT. But their Will be several teams bidding for his services including the team he's played for his entire career.

Seahawks were playing him at OLB so DE should be much closer to what he is used to. I think Allen can get the most out of him.

I think we need a bigger back who can break tackles and keep the chains moving, not another small guy like Swift. JMO.

Listening to their GM at the combine the guy sounded like it's no big deal for them to have to find new players because they have done it before.

N.E has the most cap space so they can definitely get him in a bidding war.

He didn't fit in there, as you already said. That's why he was cut. He's an interior player.

He's short but not a small back. He can do it all.

I like the TD run against Colorado when it looks like Travis Hunter has the angle on him around the 20 but Harvey beats him to the corner of the end zone.
