Its a long shot but you can try going to gamestop and buying a used A/V cable. Its possibly that, if it isn't then just take it back and get your money back.

I always get the E68. All I do is turn it off then back on. I got the red ring of death about 9 months after having my XBOX. Luckily I was still under warranty and they had it fixed and shipped back to me in a week.

The red ring of death happened again to me today on one of my consoles, this console is my oldest and is out of warranty. they want 99.00 for something that they caused, amongst the raise in xbox live gold price, paying for avatar shit....it is a joke. I will be contacting the BBB about this warranty issue.

I got the RRD a couple of years ago and since getting it back I've only played Halo: Reach on it. I don't understand people like a buddy of mine who has bought 3 360's so far due to hardware failure. I won't support a bad product. I'll wait a long time before buying the next gen Microsoft console. I have owned every console ever made from launch day and the 360 is the only one I've had fail on me.
Also Xbox Live is full of insolent children that make it impossible to use a headset. I have absolutely no problems whatsoever with the PS3 or PSN.
