I would still wait a year or so before buying one. Unless it were backwards compatible. Let them figure out whats wrong with it first.

I'm pretty disappointed in the hardware specs on all of the next consoles. 360/PS3's outperformed PCs at launch, and for some time after. 720/PS4 are going to be behind. Which makes no sense, because the consoles aren't limited to ISO standards for board layouts and OS support.

I'll get the Wii U next year and the 720 the year after. As already said, no need to rush and buy them early before they've been debugged and a good number of games come out.

I highly doubt it is coming out this next year. That would make no sense seeing as how they just released Halo 4 and then have another Gears of War and Grand Theft Auto game coming out in just months.
