XBOX And PS3 Trophy/Achievement Thread

From time to time I'll get in a mode where I want to rack up a ton of achievement points. I don't have a lot (I have a buddy on my list with over 100,000).

I like it when a game has achievements that unlock as you play along. I don't mind it when an achievement is hard, but make it worth my while. Guitar Hero 3 was one of the worst ever for that. They would want you to play through the entire career mode and they give you like 15 points. If I'm gonna spend three hours doing something, give me at least 50.

NBA 2K6 was the best. I played 1 12 min. quarter game and got all 1000 points lol. They don't make them like those 2K6s anymore.

I know PS3 has the trophies, but those just haven't caught on with me.

I wouldnt call myself a whore but i do like getting achievements. The one thing i never liked about COD is that all achievements were in the campaign mode. I think if you add more mini achievements to multiplayer games, it increases the long term value of the games.

YES! Exactly.

How does a game where 99% of the focus, hype, actual gameplay is online multiplayer, but no online achievements???

Well maybe not 99 with Special Ops, but you know what I mean.

I'll put you down as not being a "whore" you're just a bit promiscuous when it comes to achievements.

Thank you. I'm glad I got the 2K jersey instead of the NBA Live one.

The Live one just says Bulls with no number while the 2K ones have player numbers.

Gotta support your team with virtual wear.

What games do you guys have 1,000+ gamer score on? Mine are Halo 3, Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Oblivion.

I got 1000 on NBA 2K6 (not real challenging) I think Madden 06. I almost got 1000 on NBA Street homecourt, but I couldn't win 10 straight online. I think I got 970.

I got all 200 on a few arcade titles, Galaga, Pac-Man championship edition and another one I can't remember right now.

You should go to Gamestop and get one of the 2K6 titles for like $5.99. You can rack up an easy 1000.

On my video game podcast I would have gamerscore contests and people would get those and try to bump up their scores.

I used to be an achievment whore back when the 360 first came out. I have over 40 K gamerscore. It's something that I brag about haha. I look back at how much of a loser I really was.

I remember when the 360 first cam out I didn't pay attention to it. I was playing the King Kong game and after I beat a level the little notification would pop up.

I'll achievement whore until a point. If I can kill two birds with one stone (like win a game by 35 points and throw for 300 yards) then I'll do it. But like anytime said, I'm not doing the ones that want you to find all 100 relics or audiotapes like Bioshock. Screw that. I only have so much time to play. I can't dick around with that stuff.

But when you look back it will be good. It's a recording of what you accomplished. I wish there was something for NES or SEGA that I could look back on. I wish I could look back on my achievement for clearing World 1-1 in less than 30 seconds. :crazydance:

I wish developers would balance their achievements better. I just started playing Lost Planet 2 and there was a perfect example of this.

I got a 10-point achievement for playing 1 online match. I took about 10 minutes.

But completing the game on its hardest level only nets you a 15-point achievement. That doesn't make sense.

Play 10 minutes and get 10 points, play several hours and get only 15. If it also unlocks beating the game on Normal that's a bit better, but beating a game should egt you more than just 15. I'd say at least 50.

i am a achievement whore!!! they do nothing but for some reason they got me hooked. i love achievments!!!!

just got over 29,000
