What did you waqnt him to say, we need lebron; deng isn't good enough, please please please with sugar on top. i honestly think that rose is an awkward player that neither wanted to throw his team nor his teammates under the bus by lobbying for a player that plays the same position as a teammate.
I don't believe he wanted Lebron because their styles clashed. AW is not to be trifled with when it comes to these types of stories. He has stated all along that Lebron didn't feel wanted by Rose. I believe that just might be the case. Why wouldn't he want Lebron? He wants to be a star...a superstar. Rose wants to be an MVP. He is not going to get that right away with Lebron and his entourage moving in...
I think it has to do with temperament also. Lebron is called the "King" for more than one reason. He can be arrogant, petulant, and just a damn spoiled brat. Rose wants no special concessions like Lebron, and doesn't seem to want the superstar treatment. He just wants to be a superstar.
The Joe Johnson thing makes sense. I couldn't sell people on these forums on Joe Johnson, but I believe that Rose wants a shooting guard that compliments his game...a Joe Dumars type. While Johnson is not a Joe Dumars, he brings a lot to the table and would have been the best shooting guard the Bulls have had by a sizable margin since 1998.
Rose knew he would be this good...I didn't, and dare I say the Bulls might not have known either. Getting Lebron is a once in a generation thing. Lebron is unselfish on the court, it is an attractive part of his game. Its the demands and expectations everywhere else that might have soured Rose on attaining him.
