Well, I don't like Walker as a hitting coach, but I think his line as a player means diddly squat.
Coaches who were mediocre/bad players who survived in the MLB rely on fundamentals because they didn't possess the talent. I think these type of guys, depending on their communication skills,
ought to make pretty good coaches because they can teach those fundamentals.
Also, I imagine being a pretty shitty poker player who doesn't know when to quit probably plays a monster role in being hired/retained as a coach. You know, a fish.
