1-2 times a day at most. Can't see any other reason to take one a 3rd time when I don't even get dirty during work.

Contemplating reducing my showers to once every few days and cleaning those stinkier areas with a wash cloth in between showers. I'm not one of those people blessed with odorless sweat though. Not sure if I should try or not. My work is pretty sedentary. I do kind of like a morning shower as it wakes me up.

First of all I would like to thank science for supporting my lifestyle choices.

Now onto my rant because I cant accept anything anymore without getting pissed off. I love science and I would marry science and have a bunch of science kids but this research and research like it better have been privately paid for a students thesis because if any public funding is going into scientific research on showering then its time to burn the shit all down and start over again. People out there with crippling diseases and illnesses and people out there with mental health problems etc etc and science is wasting my time and everyone elses time by doing studies on how much fucking showering is good for someone and how much is bad? **** the idea that showering causes bacteria to flake off the skin and cause health concerns for others!! What a fucking small fucking issue in the grander scale of things. I bet if all the scientists and research teams in the world united for a year we would probably have a cure for cancer. But nope....gotta know how showering effects our skin..(which by the way sheds and flakes at an incredible rate without showering also)!!!

While I see your point, it should be noted that penicillin was invented when Doc was investigating contaminated samples, microwave oven was radio-wave work, pacemaker was made to use radio waves to generate heat in the body for hypothermia.

So I guess I am not against studies really of any kind. Just never know.

Besides, we know there wont be a "cure" for cancer. As Chris Rock says, money is in the medicine. Look at HIV. No cure, but a ton of drugs that keep it in check...

I shower every morning, unless it's weekend and I sleep in and forget. I shower as much because I love the hot water relaxing me but also because it helps wake me up. SO... **** you all I don't care.

I disagree about the cure for cancer. There will be cures to certain cancers or maybe even a lot of them. Problem is, cancer is a lot like bacteria in that it can mutate and the drug that was effective against no longer works. There are so many varieties of cancer that there will not a be a cure all drug. Also, unlike HIV and a lot of other diseases, there's a significant amount of public money via government funding and donations going to cancer research.

My favorite teams
 1. Portland Timbers
 1. Chicago Blackhawks
I usually take a break from showering at least once on the weekends, but being a greasy wop if I don't shower and wash my hair I start to look like Luongo--and I don't live in a sunny or warm enough climate where the amount of skin oil I secrete is necessary.

What the lake Greg Giraldo said about John Stamos appllies to me--they shouldn't be drilling in Alaska, they should be wringing out my family's pillowcases.

Hence, I need to shower approx. once a day.

I don't think their will be a miracle drug, but I do think eventually there will be a path of treatment that will be flexible enough to adapt to most cancers. Which will include drug treatment that will need to have a constant high cost pipeline which will keep the industry in the game.

But as long as people keep getting cancers there's still money in the cure. Now cancer prevention is another matter all together.

If there is a cure that has an extremely high success rate you can bet it won't be cheap. Just look at the new Hepatitis C treatment that appears to be a cure for most. It's $84k for a course of treatment.
