While I see your point, it should be noted that penicillin was invented when Doc was investigating contaminated samples, microwave oven was radio-wave work, pacemaker was made to use radio waves to generate heat in the body for hypothermia. </p>

So I guess I am not against studies really of any kind. Just never know.</p>

Besides, we know there wont be a "cure" for cancer. As Chris Rock says, money is in the medicine. Look at HIV. No cure, but a ton of drugs that keep it in check...</p>

I disagree about the cure for cancer. There will be cures to certain cancers or maybe even a lot of them. Problem is, cancer is a lot like bacteria in that it can mutate and the drug that was effective against no longer works. There are so many varieties of cancer that there will not a be a cure all drug. Also, unlike HIV and a lot of other diseases, there's a significant amount of public money via government funding and donations going to cancer research.</p>
