Lol someone starts a rumor and now everybody thinks they are obligated to provide it. I don't even get NHL Network with U-Verse so I doubt I'd be able to get Center Ice anyway unfortunately. I'm not sure if the league you all seem to think is on Arena Football levels now can afford to lose another one of their revenue streams at this point. Actually, they can, but I'm just playing the opposition card right now.

I'm not a hockey fan but I'm happy for you people that are. I didn't think there would be a season at all up until the last couple days.

Kudos to the NHL for actually piquing my interest over the last five years..... then completely ruining it with this horrible labor stoppage. Oh well, at least hockey is back.

I still think Gary Bettman is the worst commissioner in the history of commissioners.

I never stopped being a hockey fan - although I am not too keen on the NHL's businessmen not getting their act together and creating a fake labor dispute because not all of their owners agree with each other (some like to spend... a lot...) this dispute was purely and simply about that.

And the NHL is not the only hockey around. Be that as it may, I don't know that this thing had much to do with the Blackhawks ownership or players ... but other guys that really love spending, cannot/will not live within their agreements, and get off on buying every shred of talent available to the point where it destabilized other teams and owners' pocket books.

The league has problems.

Yeah, I'm a U-Verse customer as well. Sucks that we don't get NHL Network. But at least I'll still be able to catch a couple games a week on NBC and NBC Sports Network.

This is going to be a crazy frantic half season. Every game will have a playoff atmosphere. I can't wait for this!

Coyotes barely draw to begin with. Should be about 25 people in attendance now.

Players knew they were gonna lose some revenue ( but it pissed em off - so they had to put up their dukes for a while ) ... till the pocketbooks started getting just a little too thin for comfort , and it became cave-in time . Everyone knew this is about where it would end up ( 50-50 split ) a long time ago , so it should have ended a long time ago .... but the players needed to show some pushback to save face a little .

Whatever . It's over .Somethins better than nuthin. Time to watch some hockey, till BB season starts ... cuz basketball doesn't cut it for me ( until tournament / playoff time ).

Not much has really changed at all in my eyes. I'll still watch the games on TV, still post here on the good and bad about the Hawks. But I will not give this league one more damn dollar of my money until Bettman is ousted. No more games, no more merchandise....kind of like the personal boycott I did of the Blackhawks for 4 or 5 years till Dollar Bill passed away. Rocky and Mac pulled me right back in and though I highly doubt that they are pleased on how Bettman handled this mess...they are still at least partially responsible for keeping this dickhead in charge. So my hockey dollars stay in my pocket.

Well said. Couldn't agree more. I'm not giving the NHL a cent.

Any hockey game I attend, will be the AHL.

Absolutely, and David Stern set that hiring up w/the most incompetent fool he could find so as not to compete w/the NBA.

My issue is it's too damn late to have a credible season. Part of winning a Stanley Cup is grinding through a very long year...and through it all finding the means to generate your best hockey after baseball season is in full swing.

Should the Hawks manage to pull another one out, just wouldn't be the same as 10'.
