I just saw that Ottawa is cold on trading Spezza because the offers aren't good. It might be the same for Kesler. A lot of teams would prefer to go the FA route and once the music stops, teams will up offers for guys available to be traded.

There's a theory floating around that Stastny is intentionally going to string teams along before going back to Colorado.

One of the messy things is that the good teams that would most likely attract FAs are teams that typically don't have huge cap space. But this is what might be waiting to play out.

I think he stays put as well - there is no reason Vancouver has to trade the guy, as he is still under contract.

Initial reports were putting the salary cap at 68 per Renauld Lavoie from TSN on Twitter. If true, don't think they could afford either.
