Thought I would start a thread on sports items that you have. I'll be posting mostly cards and start this thread off with this:

New4_zps13018493.jpg

That's a signed 1/1 Carlton Fisk Rookie Card, Signed Jordan (hard to see the signature from the scan) numbered 25/25, a 1/1 printing plate RC of Matt Forte, and a Chicago Bears memorabilia card of Cutler, Urlacher, and Peppers numbered 36/36

LOL, mind you I either bought or got all of those cards in group breaks during his rookie year when he was relatively unknown. I always had the feeling the kid was going to be a beast since we drafted him so I went HAM collecting the cards I liked. I just got lucky that the most expensive shit I have of his was had through group breaks instead of having to outright buy them.

The card set in my signature was the biggest fucking headache though. It took over a year to hunt them all down.

I hope to god you didn't ask him for that. Kinda creepy for a baseball player to be asked for an autograph by an older man.

Never met him. Never played the putter, it's just a collectable with a cool story behind it.

Damn, I know where your disposable income goes.

LOL, while I did spend an inordinate amount of money on hobby boxes and group breaks for the 2012 product year its not a common occurrence really for me. The thing is that the 2012 draft really did have a lot of good players. A lot of valuable cards and I did more than my fair share of playing Russian roulette with expensive product. For instance I really like National Treasures so I ended up buying four boxes of that stuff. I made my money back on all of them and kept what I wanted. I honestly got lucky on those because usually its a losing proposition to spend $500+ on a hobby box. I still have to sell a fuckload of 2012 cards that I don't have any intention of keeping. Its sometimes worth keeping some rookie cards in case they have a breakout year and fans inevitably lose their shit wanting to buy their rookie card. That happened for me on a Nick Foles card I sold for over $500 last season.

Tell you what though. If Ryan Tannehill ever winds up having a breakout year I am loaded on his cards. Kept drawing the damn Dolphins all the time in group breaks so I got a lot of his autographed cards.

Well, are you going to share?
WalterTravis (an American) then won the British Amateur, an event sanctioned by R & A using the Schenectady putter. They reacted by banning all center-shafted clubs soon after. It was not until the 1951 power struggle between the USGA and R&A when this prohibition was lifted. By that time, the Schenectady putter was forty-years behind the times - it's marketing prospects severely damaged.

I found mine at a golf memorabilia store at Pebble Beach in a junk club bin. Bought it and had it mounted on a plaque
