Jon Heyman said the Cubs are offering Z to any team that will want him and will pay big bucks in the deal. Same goes with Fonzie..

Also, Olney just said...the Cubs are trying to nudge the Yanks into taking Z, offering money to offset his contract.

Thoughts?

Wonder what they want/expect in return for them. By taking on a lot of the salary, I would hope Hendry wouldn't just give them away. But with him, you never know.

Moving Zambrano and Soriano in a deal would really shake the roster up. I am not sure that it is good shaking if the Cubs aren't netting any savings in cash and getting nothing back. But it will certainly make everyone feel better that they are doing something.

If you added that Aramis would waive his NTC this might be David Kaplan's wet dream.

According to @Buster_ESPN, the Cubs are trying to entice the Yankees to take Zambrano. No word yet on if Hendry has a gun to Cashman's head.

If you want Z to be traded, hope for a good outing today. Also, the Yanks have had scouts at a lot of the Cubs games recently. Let's see who's watching Z today.

Z has had a pretty good run at Miller Park. Another no-hitter tonight as a send off?

Ken Rosenthal: Cubs called Yanks 'bout Z...Yanks reply, not interested.

So this is just like every Cubs rumor so far. Player X is going to go. Five minutes later we are told no one wants player X.

If there are scouts following the Cubs it means the Yankees are interested in someone. Whether that is Z, Soriano, Ramirez, or Fukudome they have to be checking on someone.

John Heyman is reporting that NYY were offered Z but had no interest. He has some incentive to say this since earlier he was reporting that the Cubs were offering to pay 95% of the salary and getting no interest in either.

It's shocking that the Yankees want nothing to do with Zambrano & his bloated contract ($19.25 vesting player option for 2013). #FireHendry.

I agree.

We've all seen teams deny interest before.

Once it gets to Sunday we will see what happens.

I think Z would be slightly pissed being on an AL team. I'm pretty sure batting is his favorite part of the game.

My prediction is Zambrano is gonna suck tonight and the rest of the season. He said he'd be ready to leave when he wasn't wanted and now he knows he's not wanted.

Z's numbers are pretty damn strong at Miller Park. I am hopeful that he pitches well and his fastball sits in the low 90s. Maybe enough to convince some scouts that Z just had some dead arm earlier in the year which lead to the poor numbers. Doubt it, but holding onto some hope at this point that something happens.

Why didn't we trade Zambrano to the Yankees a few years ago when they actually wanted him?
