The websites devoted to the Zodiac are just fascinating on so many levels. The film was great but if you really want to understand the depths of people's obsession you have to see what they say on the Zodiac forums. Its bizarre.

Wish they caught this guy like they did the EAR...they won't though.

Unfortunately, it does not contain conclusive identification of the Zodiac killer

I got paywalled. But, no surprise that it doesn’t actually have the identity of the killer in it. It’s just a mystery we will never know the answer to. Kinda like DB Cooper

Yeah I was disappointed to hear his name wasn't in the cipher. I think there's one more out there that could technically have his name, that's yet to be cracked -- if he even included it in one. The killer always claimed he had, but who knows.

yep, claimed he had. More than likely only claimed that to keep them busy trying to solve them. Put more resources than they should into that type of thing.

I couldn't read the article because of a paywall, but what I did read somewhere was that, the solution of this particular cipher was still useful in that it specifically eliminated a "suspect" who called into a news program claiming to the zodiac. That's why part of the solution says something like "that wasn't me on TV," etc. Basically, it confirmed that was a prank caller. Not the biggest crack in the case of course, but at least it is something.

This article is short but says there are two ciphers left that are still unsolved, but the guy who solved this one says he has "no hope" they will ever be solved because they're so complex. If the killer wasn't lying, perhaps one has his first name and the other has his last name? Or they're simply just more psychotic nonsense.

After 51 years, the Zodiac Killer's cipher has been solved by amateur code breakers
