Hester is a tough one I feel that he should get in for his sheer dominance but I might be Biased being a Bears fan. I feel when you are so good you force the rules to be changed lol. Fans outside of Chicago might say his career was too short. I feel peanut should get in and Briggs might unfairly have the toughest time but U feel that he should get in as well-whats you say

Hester should, but it will be close and he won't be a first ballot guy. The others likely won't even be finalists.

Hester checks all the boxes as for being the definition of a game changer and the best returner of all time. In my mind he is a sure fire HoFer. Only question being will they give him the distinction of being a first ballot HoFer or not.

Blow an FBI agents cover by putting him in the HOF?

Devin Hester: Yes.
Charles Tillman: Maybe.
Lance Briggs: No way.

Yes, no, no. Hester may not deserve it but he has a record that will never be broken. Best at something usually gets in, even if it's special teams.

I think Hester will. Tillman and Briggs are going to depend on who else is eligible at the time.

Hester may not deserve it? The **** are you smoking?

May is not a defining word and he was not that good at (deciding when to) fielding kicks or playing anywhere else. He would be the 1st player elected with returner as his designation when others have deserved it as well. The committee 'may' not think the position without other contributions fit's the honor.

Mel Gray was not that different than Hester though more consistent. Brian Mitchell, Josh Cribbs and Eric Metcalf (23,330 and 2nd total yards all time) all had more total yards than Hester 14,445) and they were all consistent at getting positive yardage out of punts. Hester jumps over some of them because of his TD record but it was also the right place at the right time with our special teams coach and roster. When I say 'may' not deserve, it's in the context of Mitchell also not getting in. I personally think both should be there but it's not up to me.

Hester yes, but not first ballot. Tillman deserves to get in, but won't because of his lack of pro bowl appearances. Briggs, no. He rode Urlacher's tail for his career and benefited from playing in Lovie's system that funneled runners to him.

Ah yes, the glorious yards argument. As if they are worth more than touchdowns.

I think Hester deserves it. And probably Peanut too but not Briggs. However I doubt any of them get in. Tillman and Briggs don't really have enough skins on the wall to sway the voters, while Hester may suffer, unfairly, because of the devaluing of returns amid concerns about player safety in the modern NFL.

He should be in the HOF. His dominance changed rules via the competition committee.

I know that special teams are rare to make it, but he absolutely should go in as a specialist.

Because that's exactly what I said. Note that I thought both he and the yards guy should both get in but may not because they are returners. I'm sure you wont let that impede your ongoing narrative with little to actually offer here.

Sometimes my posts are longer than they need to be, just to try and prevent these sorts of responses. Just because your carrying a candle for Hester, doesn't mean that every post that not instantly putting him in the hall is your flame.

Hester will never make the HOF. Special teams players are not valued at the HOF

No chance on the other two

Of the 3 Briggs deserves it the most

Don't take it personal. I know what you meant and I agree Mitchell and Hester both deserve the HoF. The reason why I roll my eyes at the Hester yardage argument is that people seem to forget that Devin Hester caused teams to kick away or flat out out of bounds so Hester couldn't get his hands on the ball. Devin Hester alone even without getting to touch the ball massively affected field position. I don't believe that could be said about anyone else.

Hester will definitely get in because all the fake news crybabies with CTE made it so it's literally impossible to be better than he was at kick returning footballs.
