Honestly, a lot to walk away with from it that was actually positive. I barely have bad things to say overall. I just think the wrong decision was made at the end… D gave up more big plays than I would’ve liked, but had big plays themselves.
I was looking at my phone here and there and then when I finally did turn it on, it was the replay of the blocked field goal lol

Nah, I disagree. The OL was doing fine until the coaching staff pissed down its leg, like they always do, late in the game and changed the game plan. Look at how many times the Bears have lost games in the 4th quarter when their win probability exceeded 80%. I think this is like number 5 or 6. They had only given up one sack prior to the last drive and were appropriately masking OL issues with scheming, leveraging the skill positions, establishing both inside and outside runs, etc then…something changed. It’s absolutely an organizational pattern at this point. Brown was much better for 55 minutes then…it changed. I have to believe, at this point, those decisions are coming from the head coach.

Look here's the thing. I know a bunch of meatball fans are going to take every bad coaching decision and just lazily attribute it to this game.

This wasn't a badly coached game.

The difference here was in personnel.

If you're looking for a game to hang on the coaches, this one isn't it.

This is a game that's squarely on Ryan Poles.

You have no one other than Billings to stop the run and now he's out for the year. You've neglected the interior of the offensive line The entire time and the few people you have gotten have been bad or hurt.

This was completely a personnel loss.

Do not get it mixed up that I think the coaches are great or that they should be excused from all the stupidity that's happened up till this point.

I'm not saying that and still want Eberflus to be fired.

But this is not a game that's going to make that case for you and anyone trying to ham fist that argument into this game is being really stupid.

This was a breakdown in not having enough talent on your offensive line.

You need to be able to stop the run, and block in order to win games.

These are two areas that Ryan Poles has neglected his entire tenure.

This is on him.

Now next week might be different. I have zero faith in the head coach.

But I'm not going to put him on blast for something that was ultimately the GM's fault.

Because I'm sure there's going to be other dumb decisions moving forward that'll give me more than enough ammo to circle back to that coach.

Eberflus coaches not to lose and as a result always loses. At this point you would think he would coach like a guy desperately trying to not be ina one score situation and leave absolutely everything on the field. That’s what the Lions did to turn it around.

You go for it on 4th and 3 instead of punting.

You run 2 more times to try to make the kick as close as possible.
He’s still learning guys. Give Flus time to learn from his mistakes! 🤗

I actually don't think it was the wrong decision.

When you take a look at the play, the issue was the center and right guard let a defender walk right in between them without trying to stop him and jump straight up.

Thinking a 47 yarder is a gimme is on coaching. Cairo’s leg might be one of the weakest in the league.

WTF are you blabbing about?

They could spend a whole draft on oline.

You: But they need defense too.
3 players on the defensive starters that weren't from the top 3 rounds yet you need more. As far as I know those 3 players aren't the ones that need replaced so you want to throw away top picks on defense because you don't like top picks on defense.

With that kind of thinking you could spend multiple whole drafts on oline.
But you want defense.

Yes you deserve this team. It's very clear. You don't want a winning team. You want a losing defense.

Yep. Coaching absolutely lost this one and that is not a “meathead” take. The “meatheads” were literally commenting in real time that Santos from 47 wasn’t a gimme and that they needed to at least try to get a few more yards. Instead the HC did the exact opposite and settled. And lost a winnable game yet again. The offense was way better and the defense looked fine for 55 minutes. Then all three phases on the team failed late again. At this point it is a pattern for the team and that’s absolutely an indictment on the coaching staff.

Just did the math. Less than 75% from 40+. That’s what the head coach was playing for.

Yes. Draft Oline 1st and one of the 2nd rounders.

That will be 3 high picks invested on Oline in 3 years for a position group that only starts 5 guys.

The rest of the picks have to be invested on the defense. Need another pass rusher. Run stopping beef on the dline. They might need 2 safeties. Stevenson is gone and they need speed at LBs.

GB punted once today…once

I mean Santos didn't miss the field goal short, it was blocked...
He doesn’t have the leg strength long so his balls have to come out super low and increase the probability of being blocked. That’s the reason why he’s so good short, then drops off significantly above 40. He’s got the accuracy not the distance which…is fine, but his head coach should know that.

@Anytime23 why is Lazy DJ Moore now playing well?
Idk I didn’t watch the game. I was at the Saints game watching former Bears starting WR Dante Pettis(way better than our 3 WRs now). But from the box score I saw the great Caleb Williams once again had no TDs. A whole month!

Nah. That was based on game situations and the OC actually being smart enough to get Swift on the edge and hammer Roschon up the middle from the goal line. This game was exactly zero percent on CW outside of completely missing Kmet on the 2pt conversion that should’ve never even been attempted in the first place.

I was ok with the 2 pt. With how it played out, we would’ve been in good shape to go to OT with it, but the play was pretty hopeless.

Edit: quoted the wrong post. Should’ve been @Rustysurf83

How many yards do you think the Bears would have gained by running one more play, and how many people deep down think they would have made a 45 yarder but missed the 47 yarder? It’s the Bears and they are playing the Packers, shit like this happens, The Bears against anyone shit happens.

A 47 yard field goal in this day and age is a chip shot almost, and even though Santos does not have a booming leg he is around 80% between 40 and 49 yards. The problem was the pathetic blocking on the field goal.

Say what you will about Caleb, the Bears are 4-6 and 2 of those games he put them in position to win with less than 5 seconds left and the rest of the team blew it. I didn’t see blaring issues with Eberpuke today and don’t know what the percentage was but with 3 seconds left and a 47 yard field goal to win it had to be over 80% chance to win and the Bears lost again. Its a loser franchise, they find ways to lose. I am at least happy to see Caleb, while certainly not perfect, play much better and show some balls in the end. Now they can lose out, hopefully Caleb progresses, and Flus has a bazooka shoved up his arse and shot into space.
