Do they not even have a Hail Mary defense? I think I saw a bunch of short defensive backs only. Where is Odunze and Kmet, etc., on this play?

Coaching staff needs to be launched into the sun at the end of the season. Too many plays left on the field due to lack of discipline and situational awareness. They had 3 timeouts and for Hail Mary play you didn’t even think about laying out the specifics on the defense?

Reality is though this is who the Bears are. Worst team in the North.
Whats usually most funny about hail mary defense is when they actually have players running down field with wr

Its not hard

Get your fat dl guys off the field

Rush 5....4 de and Edmunds....instead fluberbus rushed 2 and had 2 spying Daniels (why?) and they gave him 13 seconds to get the throw off

Put 6 db (or add allen) around the goal line and don't move (esp forward) until the ball is thrown....designate 3 or 4 jumpers and 2 guys on the lookout for wr waiting for the tip

Once the damn ball is tipped you can tackle the wr without it being a penalty

Instead....let's have 5 guys jump at the 3
One guy stading and watching at the 10 and not one; but two wr wide open for a tip (if it went towards the bears sideline, McClaurin would have had a catch/td as well)

Sickening

@msadows Thoughts on Daniels’ RoY chances now that it’s after the game?

Meaning you can ***** and ***** and the Bears win and then you can ***** and ***** and the Bears lose and you can say hey I was right. Congrats bud.

How do you not fucking blitz him instead of playing all that coverage? I bet that is what Jalen Johnson was telling Eberflus.
Yuuuup.

He has coached a competitive defense, and yet is a pussy when it comes down to winning a game. You can't stop being aggressive when the game is on the line

That sucked. But there are positives to take away.

The rookie QB played poorly, but kept grinding and played his best when it matter most. They found a way to give him a little time to make a few plays in critical moments.

Sometimes the ball doesn't bounce your way (yeah, that also could've been played better).

They're still 4-3, with two winnable games that could have them 6-3 going into a matchup with the Pack at Soldier. Just gotta dust yourself off and get back to work. It's not the worst thing to see if they can overcome some more adversity. Hopefully it's part of the growing and learning process.

The loser HC is now 3-17 on the road

When will the process for him to grow and learn end?

As always, I only give my opinions.

When someone turns it personal and ends up wrong, yes, you get to crow.

If you said, “I think the Lions are going to score 50 points today,” and I said, “Stop cunting, you fucking moron!”, you would probably say something when the Lions score 50, right?

It is so funny how Bears fans want to blame the coaches for player **** ups but yet don't want to credit the coaches for the resilience this team showed.

This was the No 1 or 2 O that has been scoring at will on teams and Caleb and OL was garbage for most of the game.

Yet Flus and his D held Daniels and the Commanders to just 12 points. If you are going to blame the coaching for the Hail Mary then credit them for the fact the Bears were even in position to win given how bad Caleb and OL played for much of the game.

In the end, my big takeaways are this D is legit and held a top offense down and Caleb showed guts in driving us down the field on back to back drives to take the lead. A lot of teams fold after that Kramer fumble and given how bad Caleb was but the Bears did not.

This is a bitter pill to swallow I am sure but if this D continues to play like this then it all comes down to Caleb's continued progression.

Watch the replay.

Not blaming him—He’s trying to make a play. Just an observation.
Everybody going up for it though, he's just the one that gets to it. It will be tipped by another if not him. No guarantee you get the same type bounce but no guarantee you don't either. Can't blame him. Not as if teams don't practice for that type thing. It's the most likely way you'll complete a hail mary. 1 team had a player in position for the potential tip. 1 team did not.

So Cal by way of Northside
You have to love the overreactions. It’s possible to have a bad game as a quarterback without then having to also be a head case.

Early on, he was amped up and overthrowing everything and since then he’s had no time to throw and no open receivers

He has been bad today there’s no doubt about it. But I don’t think that makes him a head case.
*potential. Definitely more talented than any Bears QB in history but he was clearly in his own head today. Nice to see him come out of it late in the game.

Now you're finally seeing it

One it the biggest games of the year with all the storylines and it ends like that. Also, all the former NFL players saying as much is kind of making it obvious.

But that's just it - why wouldn't he want to step on the throat of the other offense when you had 25 seconds to defend against just that?

Not against defensive coaches but I'm just not impressed with flu's

When he's fired? When I refer to growing and learning, I'm not really talking about Eberflus, I'm not sure why you would assume that I am.

I guess I could just have a sky is falling meltdown?

And 7 points today were practically an act of God. They played well. Offense has to show up earlier in these tougher games.
They gave up 480 yards of offense and totally misplayed a hailmary. The defense was fortunate 2 of the Commander's touchdowns were called back because of penalty. One of those was an illegal man downfield who wasn't even close to where the play was going. This is not a day to rave about the defense.
