Find some reason to keep him in juniors and tank in 2024. It worked before for the Hawks.
Bedard said himself he is a kid.

Going straight to NHL proved abusive even for Dach, maybe because his size turned him into a target, but baby faced Bedard might not be physically ready.

Still, you don't want to just send him anywhere.

Best Chicago sports luck since Derrick Rose.
The hawks were a bottom 3 team in the league, so getting #1 (even though Anaheim's odds were fantastic) wasn't completely out of left field and unexpected the way the Bulls getting Rose in 08 when they were the 10th or 11th worst team.

I'd argue Houston taking Mark Appel #1 in 2013, who quit baseball a year or two later for injury and religion (then eventually came back a year ago) for the cubs to get Kris Bryant #2 was better luck. Or even the Colts snatching defeat from the jaws of victory week 18 of the NFL in January against Houston giving the bears #1 which Poles turned what he just turned it into.

But then again who cares. Hopefully, Bedard is the generational player everyone makes him out to be. That'll turn the chapter pretty quick on the Kane/Toews era.

If he plays immediately he’s going to be surrounded with trash tier talent next season.

The hawks I think have 3 conditional picks in the draft based on playoff results, can someone put the rooting interests out there? Or ate they locked in already? The big storyline now is how they are going to surround Bedard with good young talent from such a strong draft. They have 7 of the first 67 picks right now.

The Hawks will have the 19th pick when the Leafs **** it up tomorrow.

They get the Rags second rounder from the Kane trade.

How am I, as a fan, responsible for sexual assault? How am I condoning it? What was I supposed to do exactly?

**** anyone who blames the fan base.

Go look at the thread in the Bears forum. There’s two fans there victim shaming/blaming.

I mean if you want to spend money supporting that team that’s your business but the very least people could do is not condone victim shaming.

Best Chicago sports luck since Derrick Rose. Thanks for playing (though I will award a point since the Cubs ended the curse).

Kane back to Chicago?
I wouldn't hate Kane returning, but then again, that's a total Bowman move. And Kane may need surgery this summer.

Let's also remember, it won't hurt if we suck again next year. There will be other skilled vets in free agency you can get other than an old Kane coming off surgery. Love the guy but it is what it is.

I wouldn't hate that either, but lot of factors there. I imagine he'll want a shit ton and long term. Would he even want to return?

I'd pursue him if the Hawks were going all in this year, but they shouldn't be doing that.

@Raskolnikov I hope Bedard is nothing like Rose (quote feature not working on mobile). Rose would be e out for the season if he got scared by kid on hallowe'en.

The rebuild timeline and strategy has definitely changed now landing bedard. Do they try to suck again next year? Maybe. Or start adding pieces around him to help develop him. Some of those high draft picks might be used to trade for players now instead of drafting them. Interesting to see what they do. I feel only wrong thing they can do is not draft bedard

Nah, just don't let the Bulls doctors anywhere near him.
