Ok,

Lets say you are handed 10,000.00...but its not for bills, food, etc...you can only invest it into something. What would you invest it in? Stock? ok which one? Annuities? 401k, Bonds, property...Where? a home or just land that could be hot 10 years from now. a business? what would you do with 10,000.00 to invest?

also what would your ultimate goal be for a return on any of your investments?

Property. Buy a house or condo.

EDIT: Obviously I meant toward a down payment, not a 10k house lol.

i would start a 2 floor sports building. a bar and restaurant on the bottom floor, a basketball court on the top floor.

a members only kinda thing, but if wanted the court could be rented out or the bar/restaurant could be rented out for a party.

alot of people would for sure.
$10,000 really isn't that much when you actually think about it.

I mean, it'd be great to throw down $10k as a down payment on a home, but what is your monthly payment going to be? Unless you're talking about a $100,000 home, you're payments are going to be through the roof. That is about $1,000 for the principal and interest, not including insurance + if you escrow your property taxes.

Much better to use that amount of money towards bills or even saving it.

Well it obviously wouldnt be the whole down payment... it just makes it much more possible to afford a down payment.

Like instead of using 40k of your $ you would use 30 of your own + this 10. Hurts much less.

if you invest it into something specific you may be able to turn that 10k into much more.

do you own a home? or do you rent? i forgot your age, im sorry.

Yeah, I realized after I posted that, that maybe you'd see it and think I was talking specifically to you. I didn't mean to get down on your post specifically.

The work that is put into it.....I'd agree.

However, I bought a foreclosure that sold in 2006 for $100k more than I what I bought it for. So I'll gladly put the work in.
