Cubs offense was painful to watch down the stretch. As has been said over and over, too much talent to have 40 1 run games.

There's always next year boys

They've got to do something about the offense. This is the second year in a row it's been hot/cold like this. They don't seem to get that big hit.

Smart managers use a true leadoff man.

So glad these fucking horrible losers get to go sit in a corner and watch a real team win the world series.

Learn something. What a pile of shit bunch of horrible losers.

22 innings, 2 runs in consecutive must win games.

Welp.... good pitching performance. On to the offseason. Hopefully they figure out their situational hitting issues over the offseason.
They need to work on their hitting. Period. That was a big fail in the 2nd half.

With the season on the line these bums could only muster up 2 runs on 9 hits in 21 innings. What a collapse the last month of the season. They will have to answer for it.

Let's be real here, given the way they were hitting it's probably for the best they take the extra month off to get healthy. As much as I would have liked to see them get back to the NLCS, the team looked like a shell of itself. Specifically Bryant needs to come back strong next year. Him and Rizzo make the offense go and Bryant looked like any run of the mill half decent player rather than an MVP bat when he returned.

What a bunch of fucking losers.

Thank God for hockey (not the Hawks).

This team is awful.

Agreed. This collapse wouldn't have happened under Captain Toews's watch. I really question the leadership in that clubhouse.

True, the Hawks collapse already happened last season under Shitbird Toews watch.

The called second strikes on Heyward and Schwarber will haunt me. But there were so many opportunities.

We got several gifts andnever made them pay.

We already know you are ignorant from Cubs and Bears boards. Are you seriously ripping Toews now, too?

Good Christ. You are the Trifecta of ignorance.

Last 4: 1-3. 2-1, 3-1, 2-1 in 13. Ouch.

Rizzo ridiculed those who worried about an offense that was 25th after the break. Get on your team’s ass and off the fans’ asses.

Remember back in 2016 when we worked counts and put pressure on opposing pitchers?

This years team was generally fking awful offensively no matter what the stats say.

They got screwed with the schedule, were banged up but the offensive approach was awful.

Too many pathetic seasons (esp 2nd half) from contreras, bryant, almora (awful 2nd half) heyward, etc

The bullpen fell apart last month, but the offense was the major issue. I expect chili davis to take the fall and some major positional changes to be made (harper, machado, lamehieu shoudl be added assuming Russell is gone)

To be fair, Rizzo showed up in the second half. His teammates... not so much.

Colorado started a pitcher in his first ever postseason start, on the road, on three days' rest.

And we couldn't score off of him.

He played very well, as he always does.

We just need someone to light a fire now and then, and he's still riding 2016.

Also can the cubs trade for better weather in 2019?
I don't think this team had the ability to make a deep playoff run this year, but no team should ever have to play the schedule they played in September. A team has to beat more than their opponent in that case.
