Asik is great, but we really should have tried to find a guy who can guard howard. Dalembert played him pretty well in the 76'rs series. I doubt the kings keep him after failing to get into the playoffs. Maybe we can nab him up as a rental.

Who did the bobcats put on him last year? Nazr Mohammed? chandler? i can't remember. did they play him well?

But at the same time I don't think that's why we lost.....there was no effort like before or any offensive flow.

The Bobcats fouled him out. That's always the best way to defend Dwight, do your work on the offensive end.

No...you make it sound like guarding Howard is like finding a backup catcher or something...lol

Some of you are way too panicky. There were no weaknesses exposed...the team has always had problems with Orlando. Boozer coming back rusty wasn't going to fix things. I think it stops some of the "Bulls can win the East" talk for a short while...as it should.

I have seen Orlando get blown out this year, they came back and avenged the loss. The Bulls are capable of doing the same things. Good teams get blown out too. The Celtics beat the Heat opening night, then the next game, they lose to the Cavaliers. They also lost to OKC...without Durant and Green. The Lakers have lost games to the Pacers and Grizzlies over the past few days. Again, nothing to get too panicky over.

We're misusing korver to be a threat of the bench. We keep running him off screens and make him one of the focal points of our offense. I have no problems with him running of screens, but the guy can't be the focal point of your offense. He's a great shooter, but he's been really bad as of late. Maybe it's cj's court vision, maybe it's injury, or maybe he can't be the focal point of your offense where they're throwing 2 guys at him.

Agreed that it's not working. There's probably a reason why Korver has taken over half his career FGA as three pointers, using him as a mid range off screen threat just doesn't seem that good.

We're playing bogans big minutes, and we're getting a lot of nothing from it.

Hopefully with Boozer being back the minutes squeeze will push Bogans out of the regular rotation. I'll give it a few more games and if he's still starting I'm going to be annoyed.

Deng is so inconsistent. he's hitting everythign one moment, then he can't hit free throws and is missing wide open mid range jump shots that he shot his entire career.

Deng is what he is. He's never going to be 06-07 Deng, just live with the fact he's a decent utility guy who can do a bit of everything but nothing that well.

JJ is amazing one second, then he's 'slap your face in anguish bad' the next moment.

Don't expect anything from JJ and you wont be disappointed. He's not the type of player you can have on a playoff team, his best hope is the Bulls trade him to a lottery team where he can get steady minutes to play despite his mistakes and see if he can work it out.

Brewer is banging thibs mom, because he hasn't played. He's got to be doing something to warrant his lack of playtime. Maybe this guy sucks really hard in practice. If you can explain to me how a terrible shooter, and mediocre defensive player gets more minutes than him, then i've got a crap ton more mysteries for you to solve. **** it. i'll even get you a van, so you can travel around the country solving mysteries with your gang of pothead friends and dog.

He's kind of getting more minutes now. But even when he's out there he's not really that involved, perhaps influenced by the fact he's subbing in for Bogans? Maybe we just don't look for the SG in our offense.

How can our front court be this good, while our back court sucks this badly? Are there any shooters in this year's draft? Gar needs to find the next michael redd asap.

Going to be tough to get anything when you're drafting in the low 20s like the Bulls will be. I really wish we'd made a push for Xavier Henry when he was having the contract dispute with the Grizz, his shooting hasn't come around yet but the Grizz have been playing well since they replaced Mayo with him.

Yeah its basketball, every team has its off days. From what I saw from the highlights we looked like garbage but then again that happens to teams in basketball from time to time. Like Hou said look at the Lakers and to be honest even though they've lost 4 in a row im not really worried about them really. Idk why but it seems like everyone whether that would be fans or reporters or ESPN or whoever is making a big deal too early this year. I mean half of the season isnt even over yet or even a fourth of the season!!!!

If we can find a way to play howard one on one, it'll be easier to beat the magic.

i was thinking about the playoffs. Dalembert as a rental might work out. Either that or Asik becomes better. I think Asik can become better, but he needs to add to his frame to be able to defend howard. Kurt thomas is a joke. Scal shouldn't be in the nba. Taj and noah are too thin to contain howard. Booze really doesn't have defensive instincts, but he might be better than noah. he's a bigger more physical body, but i've never hear of him being a lock down defender.

it's never to early to think about the playoffs hou. c'mon.

Gamelog of Howard's last 8 vs the Bulls (from 08-09 until present).

22/15 in 39
15/14 in 29
26/12 in 34
15/9 in 22
9/12 in 33
18/14 in 25
12/6 in 20
13/12 in 34

By my calculations he's averaging 16.25/10 in 29.5 minutes of action. Against all teams he's averaging 20/13 in 35 minutes, so we're holding him to slightly less than his averages even on a per minute basis. Mind you this is with Noah missing some of the games through injury, and being in foul trouble for some others, so we've guarded him for extended stretches with such defensive powerhouses as Drew Gooden, Aaron Gray and Chris Richard.

Howard isn't the problem the Bulls have with the Magic, there's no need to make a signing just to try to beat one guy on one team who hasn't really gone off on us anyway.

hello I'm new here. Glad to find this Bulls thread.

The team got beaten up badly. The team has no rhythm throughout the game mainly because of Drose's foul trouble and the Magics outrebounding the Bulls 44-21. I think we really need another SG who can really create his shots. A lot of open jumpers were missed while the Magics are just making most of their shots. Anyway, I hope they can bounce back vs the Celts (which is a tough assignment)

Its too early to panic. And its too damn early to want to get Dalembert. And who the heck is Dalembert? He is not Kendrick Perkins...

A couple of years ago, Howard played against Dalembert and the 76ers in the playoffs...here are his points and rebounds

31/16
11/10
36/11
18/18
24/24

again, game 17 of an 82 game season and you want to do what???

Its way too early to say what you are saying, plus your idea is a bad one...

Terrible game. There's no excuses, Bogans should head to the bench, Boozer should sit his ass down and let Taj start until Boozer gets better. I mean clearly Carlos is not ready to play and we don't really need him right now.

Better luck next time, Chicago.

Boozer should be starting, he won't get into shape unless he plays and yes...you really need him. Taj doesn't stop what happened against Orlando.

Boozer only played 22 minutes anyway, that's about the right amount at the moment, he needs to play real game situations to learn the system. Practice only helps so much, he said that the pace of the game was quicker than he'd been practicing and it'll take him a few games to work back up to where he needs to be.
